OK. I know nothing about horse racing but I feel compelled to share my omen bet with Demonlanders.

No 5 Big Orange can't lose with Jake Spencer on board

Now if that doesn't work, former skipper James McDonald is riding Hartnell.

And Criterion has the evergreen Max Walker who once played ruck for the Dees and then bowled medium pace for Australia is the jockey.

I like Bondi Beach trained by the angry little Irish man.

If really wet,The Offer has won 4 in the soft,Damien Oliver aboard.

I have had a beer in just about every Criterion pub in Aus.

And I did take the missus on a trip to Paris last year

If we name every horse we are sure to get the winner.

Like a friend of mine who used to put a dollar on every runner and then proceed to tell everyone she backed the winner.

Well, we've already said goodbye to Our vain Howe.

Is that in the right spirit for this thread?

I just put $10 on Trip to Paris using this red and blue reasoning although when I explained the thought process to my wife she sniffed "you realise that is more of a reason for it to come last than win?" Harsh

Kate Waterhouse looks like a Strumpet from Wantirna Sth ,despite her good breeding.

Dresses like a cheap bogan too.

Well my only punt of the year in the workplace $5 sweep yielded $25 thanks to Criterions third placing.

Now I can blow that on tonight's oz lotto draw.

Shoot Red Cadeaux now-the false concern is killing me.

Finish off McAveney while you're at it.
