First year player, great football IQ, plays at FF not in the ruck....already one of the better KPF's in the game heading toward being an absolute champion..

Yep, I can see the similarities.

Casboult doesn't play in the ruck. He plays forward and pinch hits in the ruck. Was also a rookie elevation rather then someone good enough to be mini drafted a year early.

Remember we're looking for someone to compliment Hogan and fit in with our structure. Not someone to be Hogan's equal.

You want to see Dunn or Tom McDonald going up against Goldstein in the ruck when Gawn needs a rest be my guest.

My source told me gold coast was the target and im guessing Prestia may still be a possibility.

Well it's not a Howe meeting..

Everything continually points to him, but I'm tipping Gold Coast get him to hang around in case their form trends upwards next year and he decides to stay. If they don't improve, every Victorian club will be all over him, and our chances take a significant dip again.

Our best chance is still this year I believe.

Gold Coast who just lost their key forward in Dixon .

I just think a Howe Prestia swap makes alot of sense, we may have to give up next years 1st round pick as well.

Actually this is an aspect that's going to be quite intriguing. ..that is the valuation, use etc of 'next season picks"

It's a bit like having a credit card come trade week.

The temptation of reap now pay later must I think raise it's head at some juncture.

Just saw in the HUN article about every clubs trades and little snippet wanting Dion Prestia but mentioned a big deal brewing is unconfirmed.

Something big is brewing guys........... not PD

Next week will be big.

What is brewing

There was a bit of brewing going on straight after our last flag - Carlton United and Melbourne Bitter as I recall.

Thats Todd Viney meeting with Gold Coast officials in regards to Howe

... or Prestia.

Hopefully both.

Hogan averages a grand total of 4 more possessions a game, (than Levi) yet i don't hear you complaining about his lack of the ball?

Both will do a lot better with the defenders having to worry about the other, and with improving midfield delivery (both qualitatively and quantitatively.)

I actually think we are closer to a flag than GC.

I don't think Prestia will leave this trade period, what we need to do now is make sure we finish above GC in 2016 and push for top 8.

A successful 2016 season will do wonders for our chances of recruiting Dion. Forget about $$$, he will get that wherever he plays...its all about on field

I would prefer to trade next years first rounder as it is likely to be around the 9-12 mark. If we can use it to trade for an A grade mid with one of ToumpAs Howe Dawes ect and Draft Weidemann this year.

In Prestia Weideman Kennedy Bugg Melksham

This is where a next-season-pick becomes interesting.

Talk about sliding doors etc

After hearing Marcus Ashcroft on Sen just then there is no way Dion Prestia will be a Demon this year. Already been training at the footy club gym and is definitely committed to GC next year.

Might aswell put a line through him now.

Still if we get Bugg Kennedy and Melksham plus keep pick 6 that will be a win for us.

Will be interesting if we could do something like

Our first pick this year (6) for Sydney's first pick this year and next year.

We use our future pick in a trade, then use Sydney's first pick this yeAr.

Next year we overtake Sydney on the ladder and end up with a better pick then Sydney has.

Long shot but these type of situations could happen.

No it can't

Why's that? If a team unexpectedly drops on the ladder rapidly it could.

Because sydney aren't stupid enough to do that.

I'd trade our 1st rounder this year, 1st rounder next year and howe for Prestia and Omeara.

Heck, if they ask nicely, I'll throw in terlich.

So you are looking to trade in 2 seriously injured footballers.

You'd have to admit that's some seriously good injury list depth..

Not sure why you are reading so much into what he sad, it was hardly definitive.

Definitely wouldn't put a line through Prestia just yet.

So in addition to Prestia's manager, Ashcroft has now said that Prestia will be playing at GC in 2016, and yet people still think that GC will trade him. In the words of Harry Hoo, "Amazing".

He actually had a good goal kicking effeciency this year, media just jumped on board sledging him. His hands are ridiculous too. Get him!

Does goal kicking efficiency count out on the fulls?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
