Would have dropped Bail ahead of M Jones. Can't understand that - wouldn't play either of them. No point.

The Prince is very lucky to be there.

Pity about Tyson, really need him.

If Gawn is out, Kreuzer will ruinate us.

You can't honestly tell me that Lumumba has been better value than Matt Jones in recent weeks.

A bench containing Bail, Newton, Riley and Jamar is as bad as anything we dealt with last year. Plus Brayshaw who should have been rested a month ago, and has struggled ever since.

I can't see that Stretch's average 9.5 possessions a game warranted another opportunity this year either.

A half decent side would beat Carlton by ten goals. We might get them by three if we're lucky.

Yes a loss will be a disaster, just like the match vs GWS at the MCG late last season.. the kind of soul crushing loss that sets a club back 12 months.

The potential of ending on 8 wins is a nothing season?

us beatuing carlton doesnt mean we had a good or bad season. they are shite and have nothing to play for. us winning wont give me any more confidence going into next year

and we have no chance of beating Freo or GWS even if they dont give 100%

Even Damien Barret reckons we will win this game by 10 goals.

As if Garry Lyon tipping us wasn't already a curse!

We're a sneaky chance against GWS in the last round.

I reckon next season will be great. I don't think we'll make the finals but I reckon we'll get about 10 wins. That means we'll be in the 'finals race' for a large part of the season which will be pretty exciting after the last decade or so!

Well it's moot I know but I can't agree.

Matt Jones has had 33 possessions and 7 tackles compared to Lumumba 17 possessions and 6.

Hard to mount an argument for Lumumba. He's been horrible and I don't know how he's still in the team. Perhaps Roos has gone to him and said "While I'm coach you won't be dropped". That's what he said to Rhyce Shaw.

Bb you made a good case for Lumumba having been poor this season, particularity the point about how low his possession count is.

Unfortunately for the dees Lumumba made an even stronger argument last week against the doggies. He was woeful, particularly in terms of how weak his tackling was.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 12th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
