Hahahaha this has instantly become my favourite post on Demonland from the guy who has followed me post by post for years. Here's a special dedication just for you my number 1 fan...

Jeez, every time. Is it really that hard to stick to the topic?

Looking forward to seeing Jack bounce back today after an underwhelming match last week.

Was struck down by the flu kicking around the club as were a few others including our captain (who apparently is allowed to have an off week without a witch hunt unlike Watts). Salem is missing this week with the same illness.

Yeah I know, so here's hoping he's over it (and no one else is playing sick).

Fitzy pulled out of last week's game with the flu and kicked 4 yesterday, so fingers crossed.

And many on here want to delist Fitzy (along with Watts)!

I liked this post because it doesn't have any alternative colours or fonts that I have to squint to read. Thanks D-L!

:)

LoL..... I have difficulty reading normal text, that is too close together, & sentences joined into paragraphs, so I lose my position in the sentence changing lines, so I like to seperate them further apart, to focus my eyes & to help stop my mind from following all tangents possible. It helps with slowing down thoughts & allows for deeper thoughts about that one sentence.

the colour is for accenting some things for those who are bigoted & hypocritical.

#edit; for missing word.

Fitzy was recruited as a project player with talents, so he was expected to take some time to get there. even if only a spare parts player, which I think he can become more than, he is very handy type to have on our list.

& many of those same people are screaming out for more speed.

the time to lose a player from the list is of they cannot do it anymore, or they have simply stopped growing/developing within the club.

fitzy is clearly still growing his footy.

I think more are calling for him to be traded, but the issue is that he kicked 4 for Casey, not the seniors. I really hope he comes on as he has some very dangerous attributes for a guy so tall, but at the moment it seems very much touch and go with him. But he is a big bloke, so he may just take a little more time.

Good post Senegor.

1 I think in his draft year had he been pick 5 the whinging would be almost gone.

2 I am a fan, but to take the game on more.

1 Melbourne Jack Watts Melbourne Games played 112

2 West Coast Nicholas Naitanui West Coast 125

3 Fremantle Stephen Hill Fremantle 146

4 Port Adelaide Hamish Hartlett Port Adelaide 108

5 Essendon Michael Hurley Essendon 116

6 Carlton Christopher Yarran Carlton 118

7 Brisbane Daniel Rich Brisbane 119

8 Richmond Tyrone Vickery Richmond 97

9 North Melbourne Jack Ziebell North Melbourne 118

10 Adelaide Phil Davis GWS 75

11 Collingwood Steele Sidebottom Collingwood 139

12 Sydney Lewis Johnston 10

Watts was the number one pick of virtually every club in the draft that year. Ironically, not West Coast who would've taken Nik Nat at number one.

Gubby Allan told me that. To my face. Not to some sister's best friend's cousin's pet guinea pig.

So there is a method to the madness.

Thanks for sharing d-l but if you could try to stick to the same rules and conventions found in English wherever it is spoken and written that would greatly benefit the rest of us

We all like to get artistic at times, but some of us like to read legible text .

You can blame Jack watts if you like.

Would love Jack to be the Norm Smith medalist in our next premiership.

What are you smoking? Has he ever been B.O.G?

Yep. A few times, most notably one of the wins against the Bombers where he dominated and in the last quarter marked Watson when they put him forward to try to pull something out of the hat.

Or even just one of 22 MFC contenders perhaps, for starters.

I'd happily trade Watts. He's the poster boy for this clubs years of ineptitude. It would almost provide "clean air" as we move forward.

Will it happen ? No.

Supporters carry on about his skill and decision making etc, but it's vastly overrated. His total package is "ordinary".

At some point those that have said; "if Watts doesn't show anything then he should be traded/delisted," should surely accept that he has shown that he can produce football worthy of his spot in a good team?

We have had all these projects in the past that have never delivered and here we are with one that might finally do so and we want to go back to square one.

We are not going to trade Watts for his worth to us in our 22. We just won't find a partner will to part with anything worth our while.

I'm of the view that if we trade players with AFL first 22 qualifications we should use them as garnish with early picks for very good players. Otherwise they stay.

IMO we are now past trying to pick players like Michie, Riley and Newton as we have enough depth to back our own. If we are going to trade Watts and Howe they should be bundled with our first round pick for someone like Prestia.

Trading Watts for (say) pick 25 would be just so dumb. We don't need youth, we need players who can play and we don't need species like those above.

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
