Yeah i reckon well aim for finals which is 12-13 but if we finished with 10-11 and improved competitiveness i wouldn't see it as a failure.

there should not be, but the way everyone see the dees, that every win is lucky, or the other team was flat.

GWS were lucky we missed a lot of shots when we dominate earlier in the game.

There were some good wins this year but it was still very frustrating. The gap between best and worst is quite shocking.

Consistency is the number one goal right now. We can't string together two or more weeks of good football. Also, finishing teams off. We were a 10-goal better side yesterday I thought but we toyed with them. Not so much a bad thing, we got the win.

My pass was 8 wins, but I can give extra credit points for breaking so many ugly records (win round 1, beat geelong, win in geelong, beat Collingwood, win at Etihad).

Next year I want 10-12 wins, but mostly, consistently good football.

That's the next step for this team.

I think this will be seen as a transition year and there are plenty of positives to be taken out of it.

The coming if age of big Maxxy, the silk of Salem and Stretch, the extra grunt and class of Brayshaw, the best young key forward in the competition, Petracca, a fit Tyson and Trengove in the wings, Harmes a real surprise packet up forward, 3 up and coming backs in Frost, O McDonald and White.

Most teams win about 80% of those games - we won only 33% - 2 out of 6.

We already have the ability to win those games as proven by finishing higher on the ladder, we just don't have the application, or maybe the belief.

Winning the games that we should will build belief amongst the players, and that, together with the natural improvement of our younger players, will result in more wins, a higher position on the ladder and thus, more games that we are reasonably expected to win. It is almost a natural statistical progression.

no not at all, am not looking for negative only saying many will pick out most of the negative, i think for the team to take the next step the team needs to get confidence from wins, at the moment the team is more likely to lose after a win then when they lose, they are more likely to win, sounds confusing but that is how it is, i think once the team can get two wins in a row, they might get on a roll.

Ten doesn't look like a good number to me as we should have beaten Carlton, Essendon and (one of the games against) St. Kilda giving us ten wins this year. 12-15 would be an improvement and hopefully allow us to make the Final Eight.

Yes its most important we start nailing those games that we are even money or better to win. Those losses by far the most disappointing part of the season

Everyone keeps banging on about how bad the first St Kilda loss was but I reckon the second game at the MCG was more of a debacle.

Agree with this. And I'd add one other KPI, and that's knocking off a top 4 side. We got absolutely belted by the top 4 sides this year. Freo by 11 goals and 9 goals, Hawthorn by 105 points, West Coast by 9 goals, and Sydney by 7 goals (should have been more, they were already 7 up at half time). We were never in any of those games except arguably the WCE game where we were within a couple of goals during the third quarter. These teams absolutely toyed with us. Once I see us fighting tooth and nail with these teams deep in the last quarter, I'll know the improvement is real.

The peanuts on here who have cornered the market in hyperbole should be having a good look in the mirror about now.

Roosy's final year must demand a big shift in player attitude..

On balance I think Roos has been really good for the club but like everything there is good and bad. Those wanting to make a case against can do it based around some poor periods on game day and some rather questionable comments about the past and supporters. They can rightly query his commitment given he was only ever a two to three year coach.

The case for is that we have obviously improved. We now look like a footy club, much of the damage of the past FD has been fixed and Roos would have been one of the very few people with enough credits to rectify the carnage perpetrated by previous FD's and administrations. I'm not sure anyone could have done better. If we'd taken a rookie coach and performed at this level there would have been serious questions over his future and if we'd taken someone experienced but less successful we'd be seriously questioned now.

Many question Roos' salary. I reckon he's probably paid for it through additional memberships and sponsorships. I think he's been invaluable in making the place attractive to players like Vince (a huge win), Tyson and Lumumba (disappointing) and perhaps his greatest achievement is providing an environment where our young players have been prepared to commit.

Many have rightly questioned the succession plan. I think it's been very successful. If Roos' tenure had been open ended imagine the conjecture now or worse still if he decided he didn't want to do it anymore.

Roos at least stopped us heading quickly to oblivion. We've now got a stable platform from which to improve. I'm glad he came, I wish we'd improved quicker.

Jackson is a very smart strategist. I think he's thought this through very well and got the right person initially. Let's hope Goodwin is a win as well.

Im not sure we often won after a loss NAA but I agree on the other 2 points.

Need to win 2 in a row against teams outside the bottom 4/5 to begin with and then 3 at some point etc.

Confidence to be gained/maintained after a few wins in a row which should assist with further wins. Sadly this (confidence after a win) went missing way too easily/often throughout this season.

Personally, I think he is naively honest with players and where they stand - I think players who have their futures stamped or up in the air is the only way you get 39 goals to 2 in first quarters for a month up to last week.

Roos is on the right track and will prove most of us wrong.Cannot wait for the next batch of replacement players!
