Reading on the Bulldogs forum one poster stated that Garlett collected Boyd in a contest and would probably get two weeks. I have not seen the replay but does anyone think that Jeff is likely to be investigated? By the way it was interesting to read the comments of another Bulldogs poster. "I wish the Bulldogs were as well drilled as the Melbourne footy team". Interesting when we have been described by our own as 'rabble'.

Dicey. He ran through the contest going for the ball and Boyd stuck his head in the way. Contact was upper arm to the side of the head and decent force.

well if Garlett goes, Goodes should go for twice as long. Goodes elected to bump and hit high, whereas Garlett's collision couldn't be avoided as much.

I think it will get looked at, but I'm hoping like most tribunal decisions nowadays it ends up as a fine rather than suspension. You wouldn't want to see Garlett not go for the ball in that situation, the question is whether he had another option instead of trying to bump.

Personally I don't think Goodes did anything wrong. Fair hip and shoulder with the ball carrier within five meters, just unfortunate Jones didn't see him. Unsociable perhaps, but not illegal.

Big difference between the two is that Goodes was going the bump and Garlett was going for the ball

They will review it and then say insufficient force . Needs to be careful though.

The only issue is whether it got him high - and most bumps do. Otherwise I have no issue with the Goodes' bump.

If he goes it is wrong. Appeared to me that he was going for the ball, and the player was put in the way by a tackle, then Garlett tucked in his arm and tried to get around him, but couldn't. Completely incidental contact.

you don't have to be hit in the head to see stars

it might have had more to do with the sudden head acceleration/deceleration as he seemed to have no awareness of the impending hit

How do you get concussion without a head knock? he didn't seem to hit the ground hard enough so must have been the shoulder. Agree that it was fair play, until the dogs player left the ground and hit his head.

Head high hit. Concussed him - he was brought from the ground, obviously hurt. Subbed off and at risk of missing next game.

Can't believe people don't think there is a very big chance he'll go. He should go. The rule is clear - hit them in the head when there is an alternative and you are in trouble. Ask Sam Day.

Other thing that I didn't particularly like (from either Jones OR Goodes) was the fact that Jones wasn't really close enough to put pressure onto the ball carrier, he wasn't going to catch him, and he knew it. He was probably going 80%... therefore I reckon Jones didn't expect anyone to come in and take him out as a result of that either, as pointed out above, he didn't need to bump, could have just blocked, yet he jumped into the bump and caught Jones high, and unaware that contact was coming would suggest the MRP might take a look at it.
