I read the negative comments last week and didn't comment, because he's not above scrutiny and everyone is entitled to their view.

However, some of the reactions towards one of the best key forwards to enter the game in the past 20 years was astonishing.

Apparently, some of you didn't like his "attitude". FMD. That's what makes him the player he is and will be.

Of all the things to moan about some chose Hogan. It beggars belief.

He has kicked 28 goals in 13 games. He will likely kick over 40.

He should win the Rising star without question.

Bit like a Lee Trevino golf swing.

Great get rickyt. Ugly starting position, great contact.

I thought his kicking at goal today was good but he missed some targets further up the ground. Did some very silly things that lead to turnovers. Trying to do a bit too much. The kid will learn

I agree that he is the least of our problems, and he could absolutely be the best key forward in the game. However as you said, he isn't above criticism and his body language today was miles ahead of last week and he also played much better, which I don't think is a coincidence.

Yeah, the difference between Jonathan Brown and Matthew Richardson. Who would you choose? I want to see him educated right. He is our biggest player hopeful for decades. Edited by america de cali

"Has any other other CHB played a better first 13 games?" Wayne Carey

Goals in their first 13 career games

Wayne Carey - 11

Jesse Hogan - 28

Like any young player Jesse is going to have down patches, he has had that in the previous couple of weeks but he was back to some good form today. Strangely enough though his form fluctuates with when the midfielders decided whether or not they will look to hit a leading target of just bomb it in in hope.

His first year has already exceeded my expectations and he continues to grow. Next week against the saints is a real opportunity for both Jesse and Melbourne. He's already shown an ability to tear them apart, nothing like building an early liking to playing a certain team, and we can really use it to springboard the season.

Jurrah :(

Liam Jurrah is by far the biggest wasted talent I’ve seen in my time following footy. Such a sporting tragedy and an indictment on both him and Australia’s failure to support indigenous culture in a positive way.

I reckon his approach is consistent. Ugly and stuttering but consistent.

Even with a kick from the goal square he did a long and stuttering run up. I don't think Hogan's kicking is much of an issue, it's not the best, for it's far from ordinary

28.11 for the year. His approach doesn't inspire confidence but it seems to work. He's no Ben Holland, that's for sure!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
