All that article tells me is that there is enough momentum that they'd had to publicly acknowledge the interest and try to fan the flames. I wouldn't count us out yet.

Hes not an A grader anyway, and thats what Roosy wants

Hoepfully we are into a bigger fish

or even just newer fish.

a big fish is good, so also is not so big halfback/midfield sized fish, around the 23 yr bracket?

happy with whatever changes the footy dept can come up with... the only thing I won't be happy with, is not clearing out our non-impact contributors.

I just wonder if he's been put on the back-burner, for a more urgent possibility. there was more than just blue cod hanging around the Prestia rumors.

reckon something is afoot, it has that smell lingering

Nothing is pretty clear at this time of the year.

Carlton where very clear in their assertions that they would honour MM contract as well, things change, things stay the same.

In the end we will know more at the end of trade season...

I'd go further than that rjay and say that at this time of year, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Keep dreaming boys. Time to move on to other targets this year and focus on Prestia again at the end of 2016.

Have you spoken to Mahoney? Viney? Roos? If you haven't then you can't guarantee a thing mate.

Problem is that Prestia is not the one who does the trades. It is GC.

Or Prestia is honouring the final year of his contract to see if the Suns improve under Eade without so many injuries.

Bottom line is that it's pretty clear he isn't going anywhere until the end of next season. If I were GC I'd be backing the club to bounce back next year and that will have a roll on effect for guys like Prestia to re-sign beyond 2016, so I can't see them trading him.

Wiseblood - if we took your approach and moved on we wouldn't have Roos coaching us.

With the priviso of not mortgaging the MCG to get a player, and also no focusing entirely on one player only, I would take no for a final answer when the trade period is concluded. Up until then keep on offering and being creative and see what happens.

I suspect taking no for an answer was old school MFC and the difference between us asking Ross Lyons manager about Ross Lyon ( and Freo being persistant) vs Peter Jackson being told by Roos 3 or 4 times that he wasnt interested in coming to the MFC but not accepting that answer until he either said yes or ran out of time to appoint a coach.

Honoring a contract doesn't mean he has to play for them.

If he is traded to us in a mutually agreed trade (the only kind) he can honor his contact here.

That being said i don't think we'll lands him this year.

All is quiet on the Prestia front... but does anyone else get the feeling that something might be cooking behind the scenes? :roos:

I thought you didn't want him because he wasn't an 'A grader'?

Gold Coast have offered Howe $650,000 a season which we won't match. Means they have to trade with us to get the deal done.

Posturing now.

We have to trade with you so that Howe can go up there, but what do we want from you?

Prestia is off limits. You won't entertain offers for O'Meara.

We've already determined that we don't want Bennell because of his issues.

Bennell and a 2nd rounder you say GC? Keep talking...

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
