Like last year?

This year there is a real direction in development, we have to many players who you can see that it is not natural to move the ball on without delaying it, ( Garland in the first game marks the ball stops never looks anywhere other than down the ground and gestures for someone to lead towards the boundary line) I think it was the game against the bombers he started to look around and get the ball moving a hell of a quicker, it is still not a natural thing for our older players to run both ways or when to lead and where to lead but it's coming, the younger players dictate this and the older ones will be dragged along with them so to speak.

I think round 4 is a good chance.

I agree rjay perhaps the best chance in the first seven.

However since we beat them last year they went on to play finals and we lost ten straight.

Average player ability is way better than us.

I have it as a loss.

You are bound for disappointment.

So far we have beaten the dogs vfl side by a goal and lost to the Bombers vfl side.

Have you looked at fixture?

Which sides are we going to beat?

Then I suppose you don't expect our membership tally to increase by much this year and heading into the 2016 season, because 6-7 wins is another rubbish year!

But still not quick enough!

I agree. And I'm hoping Frost is in scintillating backline form by then so

A) He can sprint off Riewoldt all day long with a forlorn looking Jack chasing hopelessly behind and

B) I don't have to worry about Frawley not being there against the only team I thought he was particularly useful against

0 - 7 after seven rounds...potentially.

Thus, 8 - 9 wins will be nothing short of a miracle.

and should we not we wont have improved.

Thats the point...to me.

Correct I don't expect much of an increase in membership if at all over 2014.

Simply wanting something to improve without the increased ability is pipe dreaming.

I think we will be better than last year but the improvement if going to be modest.

Beating Adelaide on Adelaide is a possibility as we did last year and one would think out team has improved on last year, round 4 against Richmond on Friday night could be interesting.

We will struggle to win a game in the first seven.

Game 1 is our only chance IMO.

We could easily be facing the dogs at zero and seven.

When was the last time we lost 16 in a row?

I'm scared this could happen.

Not that I expect to beat GWS in rd 2, but I reckon we have a better chance of beating them than GC.

Ok then. Just tell me, how much dosh shall I put on your hypothesis of our results based upon one player's vision?

Not convincing at all demon3651. You're sounding like deeluded.

Happily disagree with most here.

3 out of Collingwood, Carlton, St Kilda and Footscray will finish below us.

Bombers unknown.

Adelaide will struggle under their new control freak coach.

Geelong will get old in the back half of the season - they'll will miss drive out of the midfield is my guess.

I'm also not sold on the auto-ascention of the junior clubs.

I am reasonably confident we will win 9 or more.

Its not about what anyone thinks about what we'll win or where we'll finish. It's about what constitutes improvement, whether it happens or not, whether likely or not is irrelevant.

Improvement is improvement and is measurable.

I dont know that we will but will know it when I see it.

It's going to be good time when as a Demons supporter we can genuinely look forward to winning maybe 50% of matches we play. It's been so long now and it seems so far away. Pretty pathetic really.

4-6 wins anything better and we have a huge pass-mark season. Had we kept Frawley & Clark ( assuming we still got HL & Frost - I dont think either where going anywhere else ) I would have been looking for more like 8-9 wins.

Dont think we have the list to improve much this year. We need 6-10 games into the kids to develop them - development is the key word for us this year.

I think the loss to Essendon has dampened a lot of peoples expectations and thats probably a good thing. We are now definitely flying under the radar.

For me I wasn't so upset by the loss, Essendons seconds were going full tilt at us and we really should have won. We gave ourselves a lot of chances but really mucked up our F50 entries. JKH and Kent added to Garlett and a bit more practice and we can improve a lot on that effort. The new recruits add genuine depth to what admittedly was a weak list with Harry, Garlett, Vanders , Frost and Newton all bringing something better than what we had last year.

The worst part of the Essendon loss was that I think we were beaten a lot in the stoppages again. Our midfield is still bottom four. Our ruck stocks aren't great either. We desperately need Bernie back in the team. If we can break even in the midfield we will win quite a few games and should get out of the bottom four but the midfield is the key and I think most Demonlanders will agree ours is still rated low.

Roos and PJ would not let the prediction of finals next year come out if they didn't think it was a fair chance

Finals 13 wins

We'd need to be pushing 10 wins this year.

Anyone happy with 6-7 wins needs to look up happy in the dictionary

Has everybody erased our last 10 games from their memory? We were arguably the worst side in the comp during that period, St.Kilda actually won a game and had a similar % to us during that time. 8 of those games were just embarrassing.

Anything more than 4 wins is a bonus but the real key again will be %. We have to eliminate the shockers like the St.Kilda, Brisbane and GWS x2 games and compete against the best sides longer. We are certain to be a bottom 4 team possibly bottom 2 team depending on how the Bulldogs, Magpies and Blues go.

Let's try and win an actual game first as it has been a very long time before we start thinking about 9 or 10 wins.

That we need to forget about minimal using scores and attack more or the fans won't come back.

Spoke about recruiting etc.

Surprisingly David King was the most optimistic about us

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
