I reckon we will lose this.

That's what we normally do when we should win.

They have Magner and Clisby playing for them, with Neeld in the box.

We better win.

I hope we win by minimum 10 goals and Hogan kicks 5+ plus as well as Garlett! Momentum is huge and it appears Gold Coasts season could be stunted with Ablett looking in doubt for round 1 and the Suns fwds on the sidelines!!

Look on the positive side. Maybe we can blood a few players and instil into the team that it is possible for Melbourne to win at Etihad! Hopefully we can remove the bogey before the season proper.

Yeah...nah.

The psychological damage which would be inflicted on our players if we played our best team and lost is so terrifying to me that I would rather play our least experienced team while including players who "need the run" such as Watts. I'd rest players who don't really need any more training (such as N Jones, Lumumba, Dunn, T McDonald, Jamar and Cross).

The AFL really are stupid, 5:50 start, so they don't want people to go to these games, right?:huh::huh::huh::huh:

I'm really annoyed about this too

I work, as do most other people. I'll be lucky to make it home on time to watch the match, let alone get to Etihad with enough time to park etc...

Can't they start at 6:30?!

I actually can't wait for this game. The wife and entire family of in laws are mad Essendon, mother in law completely in denial about the whole cheating drugs thing and still thinks Golden boy is completely innocent of all wrong doing. Apparently it's entirely ASADA and AFLs fault.... Anyway

Few things make me happier then the Dees beating the Dons. Pre season or not, half a list or full side, I can't wait to smash them again.

GO DEES!

Nice tautology there.

I would go even further than that and sought AFL permission to play the same Casey team which demolished the Box Hill Hawks last Saturday (who had 14(?) Hawthorn AFL listed players in their side). In that way, Casey would get another good practice game for their tilt on the Premiership, Brayshaw and Co. would get another run, and we wouldn't be needlessly risking injury to our core players.

I have the feeling Roos is far from impressed by essendon. He might just want to kick them in the guts, to make a point and give us something handy to go on from to start season with.

I just don't want us to be the first team to lose to these rejects.

That's what I am wirried about tbh.

I dont think Roos will allow that ;)

Are there any interclub practice matches this year (that is, next week)?... apart from the NAB Challenge I mean.

would you want to risk injuries prior to round 1 ? just asking

Of course not, but this will be the first season in a while where there have been such games... yes? I'm just curious.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
