I Captained a Winning Grand Final Cricket team losing every toss in one season! What does that tell you?

That you are not as good at tossing as you should be?

Weather looking good for Thursday with a top of 31 degrees. Should've dropped off a few by bounce down so at least it won't be as hot as nuts for the lads to play in.

Heading to the sail and anchor for a lunch and a couple of cold ones before the game. Not too stressed over the result just keen to see the new recruits in action and the development of the younger brigade.

Sorry, but I disagree entirely with this. By all reports, Hogan has had a relatively solid pre-season, has been doing all that is required of him and has not been experiencing any issues with his back. The MFC would know that they have the veritable snow flake's chance in hell of making finals, so they may as well go as hard as possible in the early part of the season in an effort to win a few games (or at least run a few good teams very close) and to boost memberships and they also know that the best way to do that is to hit the ground running and with some confidence/self-belief. .

Injuries can happen at any time as we have already seen. These guys are professional AFL players who essentially live to play the game and to win regardless of the game's significance, so why hold them back?

Agreed. Surely if Mitch Clark can get through 4 quarters then so can Hogan.

May the football gods look down on us and protect thou who wear the red and blue.

Not but seriously looking forward to seeing Lumumba, Garlett, Hogan, hope Brayshaw gets a start but more importantly no injuries.

The football gods can get Jeffed!!

Becuase they've smiled upon us so much in the last 10 years!

We need the devil and a team of demons to turn this club around!

Happily sell my soul for a flag!!

Going strong who is missing who would potentially be best 22 watts?

Watts, Howe & Vince (who are all recovering from injuries). Not a bad squad in my view.

You could argue that Trengove, Brayshaw, Petracca, Riley, Terlich and Fitzpatrick are also best-22ers

You are welcome to argue that. I am sure that you will get plenty of takers!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
