Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Sounds more like Rundle Mall... the following footage comes from a CC Camera located on the awning of a building on the corner of Francis Street...

Did a guy with a tattoo bonk your misses/ take your job/ beat the shizen out of you? I'm genuinely interested to know why someone would hold such bigoted and generalised views on something that has literally no effect on them whatsoever.

I'm with old dee about tattoos and I understand what he is trying to say or this is my version:

The people who embrace tattoos as part of their lifestyles is fine but most understand that it may effect the future with things like employment but they are happy with that as it's their lifestyle so to speak.

What amazes me and probably old dee is the young people who are tattooing themselves due to 'the fashion style' and not thinking about the future. They think there is anti discriminations laws so it can't effect them but it will and other excuses used. This is what I find moronic as the lack of forward thought astounds.

It's everyone's right to get a tattoo but I wonder how many have thought about the consequences as with all fashion the sleeve tattoo will go out of style...

Would you laugh at a person dressing like the 80s now??

I'm sorry I've had a boozy afternoon. Is there any chance we could talk some footy in a footy thread? I'm heading to tomorrow's session. Thought I'd take some photos and share whatever I get. Thanks to RB for keeping us in the loop this week. Shame he had to start a separate thread.

I Agee with most of that wolfmother, best we leave it there as I have this faint feeling they want us off here and talk about football of all things.

Strange!

Suggest you go and checkout the salad bar at the local Sizzlers.

Sizzlers!! Yes, I remember buying "All-you-can-eat" salad bar, and filling up on potato skins and soft serve (chocolate and vanilla!) Probably cost them less than two bucks.

Back to footy, um, mfc was on Nine News tonight, with a disparaging headline and footage of them falling off surf skis.

Can't wait for the boys to win back respect by winning more games than expected this year.

Oh they had a day off frolicking in the surf that is great but gee the 9 News is also reporting big sharks marauding in close to shore right up the east coast. You know our luck! I would get them the hell out of there if it was me in charge.

Burgo's Diary Day 5

These are my "highlights":

Ive certainly heard Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars, which in my humble opinion is one of the better tunes on commercial radio at the moment. But its on the way to copping a true radio flogging if it hasnt already!

Uptown Funk has been on so much that Christian Petracca predicted it to come on the radio when we were on our way to dinner the previous night. Still, if the boys like Uptown Funk, which has some surprise, surprise funkiness to it, then surely they could be introduced to some 70s tunes like Chics Le Freak, Wars Low Rider or Marvin Gayes Got to give it up? Surely, theyd like them? You never know

As you know, Earl Hood, I am reluctant to criticise one of your social station. But your posts suggest you need to become more of a risk taker. Perhaps that may give you the chance of obtaining those higher honours you lust after.

Thank you for the advice BBO. By the way tell me you are back on Australian soil and safe and sound in Romsey? These are troubled times we live in. But as I reported earlier there was an altercation involving my good self at Government House before Christmas that involvied a misunderstanding in the guestnlist and then an obnoxious ACA reporter chasing me down the street outside Government House as though I was some dodgey tradesman! There is now some doubt about the communications announcing my elevation to Earl by Sir Peter Cosgwell, President of Australia! There is a chance that I have been had but I doubt it!

It was a hot day. Players impressed. Good spirit and looking physically ready for 2015.

Club needs to do more for supporters. No BBQ and no water. We arrived at 11am when bbq scheduled to start and was told it was packed up !!!!

Players were great with the kids. Lots of photos and autographs.

Burgos Diary Day 6

This diary entry is without non-relatable content, i hope Burgo didn't ready my smart-ass Demonland posts. ;)

Anyway, this is my actual highlight. I hope Trenners can make it back, i still believe the kid has what it takes to become a solid AFL footballer:

8am

Jack Trengove hasnt done anything wrong. Hes been working diligently and tirelessly in his rehab. But when I arrive at training and chat to sports science coordinator and rehabilitation coach Alex Sakadjian I learn that Trengoves morning has started as if he was punished.

Sakadjian tells me that he and strength and conditioning manager Rob Jackson woke Trengove up for a 3.30am training session. It wasnt because Trengove had been late or done anything wrong. It was simply to get the players out of their comfort zone and Trengove was not being left out, even though hes overcoming a serious navicular bone injury.

Not only do the fitness gurus love getting up at this time, I find out that Trengove loved the challenge of getting get up in his quest to return to the highest level. Its an admirable quality.

Sakadjian told me that he had flagged with Trengove to expect a call during the night. After they had called Trengove, they picked him up from his apartment and took him straight to the gym.

At 4am, Trengove did a spin bike session and then an hour of weights. Then his session finished off with another 20 minutes on the bike.

Once finished, Trengove completes a recovery session, before having an early breakfast.

Incredibly, when the main training is on, Trengove keeps at it, boxing for about 30 minutes.

Trengove then heads to the gym and does a swim. In all, he does four sessions for the day: bike, weights, boxing and swimming. Remember this is a guy who is still in a moon boot, due to a foot injury. Im tired just thinking about it!

For the players and coaches, its somewhat water off a ducks back, but for your average Joe, its remarkable to comprehend.

Still, the commitment from Jackson and Sakadjian cant be questioned either. Theyre determined to do everything they can to help the players reach their goals.

Sakadjian says Trengove could be woken again during the night before the camps end. Wow!

The theory behind the early session for Trengove is that the rest of the group is working hard on the track and they want to keep the same approach for the players in rehab.

Sakadjian said Trengove loves any challenge. But he said the trio all gained something from it. When I see Trengove at the main session, he gives a smile and says it was a good session. Hes a quality young man and I really hope he bounces back after such a terrible tough run with injury in 2014-15.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
