Great to see the club finally getting professional!!! This has been going on at a number of the other top teams for at least the past 3-4 years.

I was overseas with a coach (family member) during a pre-season in January a few years ago and was astounded that he could check on all of his players from over 10,000 kms away to see how each player pulled up after each individual training. The detailed information he was able to receive (such as what a particular player ate and a summary on each players training or weights session) allows coaches to be across the fitness and performance of all players without necessarily being in the country.

Yes I agree, the GPS staff is now 3 as well, one of them acknowledged that Roos loves his GPS numbers

I tried this diet (or similar) last year, I was bursting with energy. It was a bit hard to maintain so back to old habits. But people noticed my increased run and endurance. (Tennis)

Yeah its a great diet but as you say its a bit hard to maintain. I've found I have to prepare meals days in advance or even cook and freeze foods.

Abundant energy, eating less and no hunger cravings. Weight loss is steady.

One dietitian told me it was ridiculous and another pushed me to it. PTs at my gym swear by it.

If he is he might need to adapt.

I am sure the players each have individual diets assigned to them, everything else is tailored these days, I reckon Grimes will be on a variation, as I stated above Crossy can't bring himself to have a sausage or bacon with his egg, he was horrified when I mentioned it

Just to show how professional it is now was speaking to a Demonland reader who said I should repeat these bits

Each morning the players text how they are feeling, ie sore, sick, injured, fine, etc etc, at the end of a training session they are asked to rate how they found it, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being easy, most today rated it an 8

Whilst I'm not the biggest Neeld fan. I know for a fact Neeld had these im place aswell.

I don't care what we try as long as it is legal, just watching training now, there is an added professionalism to everything, you have players checking constantly with the fitness staff as to the loads they are doing, and if you can't do a drill, eg Tyson and the boxing there is an alternative planned and ready to go, just another observation, Jade Rawlings seems to be really up, asked him about both HL and Sam Frost, really likes HL attitude to training and Sam Frost's athleticism

Saty, does this mean Bernie can only drink Pure Blonde now instead of Carlton Draught?

Yes I reported it couple of years ago, just reiterating, the days of training then a beer and a pie are long gone

does that mean we'll never see another tony lockett again?

The old "mystery bags", can't say I blame him on that.

There is also a camera situated at the freeway end of the ground, the operator has a joystick to operate it, he has a script of what the coaches want him to film, there was also a second guy with a hand held today, being instructed by Roos what to film

Does anyone know if/ when AFL clubs will look to utilise drones for these sort of purposes? The cost of a drone isn't prohibitive anymore and the technology is there to lock on to a player and follow them from a certain distance/ height.

It wouldn't matter now would it? You could get hammered on either and just have a big fry-up the next morning and you'll be good as new.

Hang on.... This is classified as new a new diet?

I've been doin it for years.

They have been doing that since Misso started I believe. They also detail how many hours sleep they had each night and a bit of other stuff.

I know Hawthorn use one and the Western Bulldogs have in the last as well. I suspect it will be very much in vogue sooner rather than later.

So has my Dad. Didnt work for him though instead of having an AFL body he is just fat and abusive!

I've been eating this way for a few years now. Lost about 10kg over the journey.

Could never go back, stomach just freaks out when I have a heavy dose of carbs.

I think drones are a great idea especially for looking at opposition training and doubly especially if fitted out with air to surface missiles.

A drone strike capability would certainly make delistings more entertaining

And keep $cully on his toes.

I think he is one. a person who lives on the labor of others; parasitic loafer.

Edit: or maybe... the male of the honeybee and other bees, stingless and making no honey.

Drones are far more subtle than those black helicopters that are always following me around.

Surely this doesn't include pie night

No carbs? Who the [censored] is giving them nutritional advice? Dr Adkins?

Does anyone know if this is the Paleo diet. I've heard great things about it.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
