As we started life as the Melbourne Cricket Club Football Club (MCCFC) we should increase our MCC subs by $50 per annum and automatically include all MCC members in the MFC total. This would give us the largest football club membership in the Southern Hemisphere (in any code)!

And I believe that Gold members of the football club should be given a chance of becoming members of the cricket club to reward their loyalty.

C & B as a MCC member there is no need to pay for MFC membership.

I do and most of my MCC-MelbourneFC supporting mates do as well. One of my sons the Melbourne supporter does not. ( He is o/s this year) The Richmond supporter (who cares) does not pay for RFC membership.

I would be surprised if an extra couple of thousand MCC members could not be persuaded to become MCC/MFC members.

All of my colleagues probably more than 20 have both MCC and MFC full membership or above

  • 2 weeks later...

when is the close-off date, or have we reached it?

Not sure myself but am coming over for the Essendon and Brisbane games and wouldn't mind sitting with family and friends in the members area.

Would I be better off purchasing a three game membership for the 2 games?

I only have an interstate membership at the moment.

interstate membership should get you admission to 5 home games in melbourne

no reserved seating but you could ask the club about this

Thanks mate, I'll look into it.

essendon game is an away game

don't expect a big crowd, bombers fans will stay away

can get general admission at gate for $25

check afl site for where ga tickets can sit (not optimal areas)

otherwise book online for ticket plus better seating

maybe, but i doubt it. they stayed away in droves for the saints game last week

anyway, even with a reasonable turnout of bomber fans there will be no trouble getting ga tickets at the gate

i'll be buying a ga ticket

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
