Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I still would have kept the red V on the jumper and simply added the MFC monogram. I cannot fathom why were didnt wear the red jumper vs freo? Anyone else? They are all dark purple. No clash

nobody can fathom the afl's clash strip policies

This must be the most boring subject on Demonland pages are spent every year discussing a subject that won't change.

The AFL want predominately white strip.

End of story.

The best we can do is get the best predominately white strip and get on with winning games.

End of rant.

I don't expect us to wear the red in any game this year. Seems like its just money maker. If you can't wear it against one of the darkest team in the comp you got no chance.

Really don't get how you don't understand the AFL stance on this pretty simple

  • Meth Coast have a white alternate jumper, so against us at the G last year they wore their blue alternate against us to avoid a clash
  • We were told we could not wear red for the last few years because it is a dark jumper
  • Fremantle have purple which is deemed a dark jumper
  • We play Fremantle in Perth and can't wear red because it is dark
  • We play Meth Coast in Perth we can't wear red because it is dark and would clearly clash with the blue and gold of the Meth Coast jumper
  • Gold Coast have white as an alternative, so when Gold Coast play against Freo or Meth Coast in Perth they naturally are allowed to wear their home jumper (red) with red shorts and socks because for some reason their red is not dark
  • Carlton play Freo in Perth and have to change to white because obviously navy blue is a dark colour
  • Essendon play Freo in Perth and don't change their jumper, not sure what the reason is eg is their red not dark or in their wisdom have the AFL deemed the Essendon black is not really dark
  • And then we have the laughable situation last season in the elimination final with Port vs Richmond when the home side had to change because the Tigers alternative was to close to the Port home jumper

There you go AFL logic with clash jumpers in all their wisdom

The thing is that AFL don't have to use logic PSD because they are the AFL

The thing is that AFL don't have to use logic PSD because they are the AFL

the afl (that is the management group) is fast losing credibility in many areas including transparency and governance

od is right, logic is something for the afl to only consider when it suits them (usually when it is profitable)

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH MY EYEBALLS!

I am still mystified as to why people have a problem with the Collingwood alternate jumper. It is primarily white, while the main jumper is primarily black. Where is the problem...???

Now that we have 2 clash jumpers, I reckon we should cease wearing the traditional strip in all away games except against Sydney who have too much red and white in their jumper:

Red:

Carlton

Collingwood

Geelong

North Melbourne

Fremantle

Port Adelaide

West Coast

Richmond

White:

Adelaide

Brisbane

Essendon

Hawthorn

GWS

GC

St Kilda

Bulldogs

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.
