Using this method the higher the number the more chance of success.

Recruiters call it "Prendergasting" or "going the Barry".

that's good !!! :):roos:

Mahoney just said there was some interest in Frost from St Kilda.

Said the trade allows him to come in straight away and start day one of pre-season rather than waiting the extra month. Said that is crucial for a developing player.

Also mentioned that Stretch could have gone mid-20's so it is all about the 'net effect' and we've brought in the players we want to bring in.

You could sum it up like this: we got Frost, 53 and Billy for 23 plus Frost can now begin training with us and we can target the first live pick in the PSD.

Alternative was 300 pages on DL, over whether Saints go for Membrey or Frost in the PSD and no chance of enticing a good player to go into the PSD.

So much sooking from so many who have no idea what might have been really happening! Have some faith - maybe St.Kilda had a trade on the table for Frost that GWS was tempted by. The problem is we had 23 and they had 40 and 53 and that's all the currency there was. If Frost turns out to be a starting 22 KPD replacement for Frawley, we're laughing.

I simply can't fathom how we didn't extort at least a 3rd rounder out of Geekong in the Mitch Clark trade to use fir Frost. I'll be sick in the guys if Cockatoo slides to 23, absolutely livid.

Played forward ruck and back in the 18's comp. big unit who is fast and has great foot skills. Its a win and true to Roosys word on not drafting talls until they play a couple of years to see how they develop .

Lucas Cook anyone?

Frost could be our CHF .

Just this morning I was thinking our back half is swimming along nicely (pun intended) but was wondering who will take the gorilla forwards. I think this lad will be groomed for the job in the coming years. Just need to have Lumumba floating across to double team for a year or 2.

Would anyone have been upset if Melbourne took Membrey instead of Frost?

Not me Clint, Membrey or Frost and keep 23

Righto.

Has a crack at posters for having no idea what might have happen and then throws a hypothetical of what might have happen.

So much sooking from posters who have a go at other posters for saying anything even remotely negative. Everyone has the right to voice their opinion. If you dont like it, stiff [censored]

Id rather the trade than to lose him all together. Rather not risk it.

Welcome big Frosty.

Maybe we are picking someone up in the PSD? Who's available?

Posted

By God there are some morons on here this time of year.

We wanted him, we paid what we needed to. We obviously rate him. Could be one of the best athletes on the list straight away. Has a body ready to go. Getting a KPD through the draft requires a 3 year wait till they are ready to match it with the big boys.

We lost an established KPD and got ND3 we paid ND23 for a young KPD and got 40 and 53 back. The deal has real potential. 2 years already invested and his value is still low.

We saw Frost > players at ND23.

Were there any better KPDs on the market?

Who knows, this kid could become an absolute star and then looking back 23 could look like a bargain. Good luck to him and welcome to the Dees.

We might have just wasted it on another kid yet to play a game who turns out no good if we took it to the draft. The size of Frost with a few years under his belt in the system and a full preseason is still worth more then an 18 year old draftee.

So with Sam on the way....should we be concerned about the coming of that "Cold day in Hell?"

He is a big unit thats for sure!

Two years ago we tried to be smart and thought we would let Hanath slip through to the PSD.

We were then outsmarted by Freo who snapped him up ahead of us. Probably not a good idea to let the same thing happen again, if we REALLY wanted him.

Concerned? No.

It'll be a cold day in hell when the Dees win a premiership.

It sure got a little more Frosty this arvo.

Anything can be spun.

Agree, that is the one that is really upsetting.

I'm really happy about this trade, He'll never be an absolute star but he'll be a dependable 10 year key defender that every team needs. A pretty handy replacement for Frawley.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
