GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Recommended Posts

We've had to go on a post deleting spree as a result due to posters unleashing on Clark when this story is clearly nowhere near complete; and believe me his post got legs beyond Demonland.

There have been some pretty disturbing posts across a number of threads in the last couple of days, and none more so than some of the vitriol on this one. As i have posted if Clark goes elsewhere I'll be livid but jeez some of the stuff posted has been beyond the pale.

I reckon his manager deserves a whack, talk about incompetent. he could not have handled this any worse - particularly in terms of failing to protect his client (who has experienced mental health issues) from innuendo, damnation and character assassination . All he needed to say was Mitch considering a comeback and will be sitting down in due course with dees to discuss his future. Full stop.

Even if MC then decided to move on the story could have been contained and spun in a way where MC didn't come across as a turncoat and the dees could have helped control the narrative. Instead the manager comes on radio saying he is shocked at how it has all gone crazy in the media. Who could have predicted that? What a doofuus. That's who MC should be leaving.

in all fairness hardtack, this comment is just hearsay

i haven't see any of his doctors give a public statement on their exact diagnosis

psychiatry anyway is a very imprecise science

a good friend of mine has/had a very bad experience with "depression" to the point of being physically incapacitated (and is still not out of the woods after 10 years).

He must have seen 20 different psychiatrists and psychologists, been on nearly every medication available and he still has had not had one consistent definitive diagnosis.

He has had plenty of differing diagnoses though

i don't doubt mc has had a debilitating mental condition but you or i shouldn't attempt to define it or its magnitude

Well put it this way DC, I think I would take the MFC at its word that Mitch was suffering severe depression (I'm sure they would have had him checked by the best available), than I would the word of an anonymous poster who may or may not have had clinically diagnosed depression.

PAUL ROOS: Lost our best player, talked to him about what he'd actually have to do if he plays (not just the glory of gameday, but everything that goes with it). Roos is concerned first and foremost with his well being, and we'll be doing research over the next week. Wanted him to come to the club first. Got a bit messy, but through no one's fault. Mitch's intention was always to come to Roosy. Wished it had come out tomorrow.

HERE WE GO, PARAPHRASING:

"always concerned about his wellbeing, first thing i said how you feeling, how you going, making sure he is well looked after."

"i broached the subject of playing at MFC next year and we will have more dialogue on that."

"i just want to make sure Mitch is in a fit healthy state as he is only 26."

"he is a listed player, but he would have to sign a new contract for us, or get traded etc."

"i've only been at MFC for a short space of time but i couldn't be more proud of how we (MFC) handled the situation (went on to list names)"

"I don't know how to answer the question (robbo asked if he felt MC owed MFC)"

Robbo then ranting (too much red wine again, although this is a good rant saying he does owe MFC), then after he said Mitch is gone.

"we have potentially lost our best player, alongside Nathan Jones, so i don't know what the compensation is for that."

"we would want some compensation"

"if he absolutely believes not playing at MFC is the right thing to do, then we will do some research, but ultimately his welfare is first"

"it all got out before we would have liked it, Mitch's intentions were always to catch up with me"

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
