I think Roos is putting pick 2 on the market so to speak to entice clubs to lower their objections to us getting a PP as theres a chance they could trade in for it...

I never really get emotional or overwhelmed with players leaving .. But hypothetically if Jones walked as a free agent I think this scenario would crush me.

It seems that everyone is keen on Petracca this year which will definitely give us some pull come trade time.

Haven't seen the kid at all but from random readings and the fact he is a quality goal kicking mid there is a lot to like. Would like for us to get him but would rather a ready made gun instead if we could pick one up.

Sick of running the risk, investing in speculation and not reaping a dividend.

Been burnt to many times so for me its about time we picked some solid blue chip investments.

My number 1 is Dangerfield. Have met with a close relative of his and he is 100% confident that he will be back in Victoria next year.

If not him then lest just rape and pillage some ready made up and goers. Shiel, Treloar, Tommy Mitchell plus some compo back our way (similar to last year) would be great. We desperately need some quality.

I really want petracca though, so perhaps use pick 3 (assuming Frawley compo) as trade bait. Which he probably will. Although he can't say that yet as noone "knows" if frawley is staying or going.

I like this a lot in using pick 2 for Petracca and moving on pick three similar to last year.

I literally know nothing about Petracca other than what I have read and through everyones optimism it makes me want him a lot (its like the positives of pre-season reports all over again!!)

Is it possible to bring up some stats on the TAC comp to compare to other mids over the previous years? I just worry that we are all getting on the same hype as we did with Watts, Scully etc.

He seems to be the definite number 1 mid in the draft this year and a lot of teams would be desperate for him. Because of this we would get a ridiculously better deal trading pick 2 over pick 3.

Alex Sexton is the one i would target at Gold Coast Suns.

Wouldn't do it, not sure he is what we need.

Seems to be pretty easy to cut out of a game, more of a finisher that needs space from what I have seen. Not sure if he's a Roos type.

I really hope we end up with Caleb Daniel on the list (obviously not with pick 2 or 3), love the look of him despite his height

Totally agree, he gives his all 100% of the time he's on the ground. Love the way he goes about it. Same height as Brent Harvey, so there's proof players' that small can still play the game. If you're good enough, you're good enough. We can't afford to be so picky given our current plight.

My suggestion jnr Pick 2 Plus Watts, Blease, Mckenzie and Evans for Dangerfield

Keeping Tappy?

Keeping Tappy?

I was worried if I added too many Adelaide would not be able to add them all to their list.

On reflection jnr is probably correct after Watts the others are a disincentive to deal.

I'd like to see us actually draft one of these top picks and see him become an absolute superstar who plays 200 plus games for the Dees. Trading them out just makes it look like we are incapable of identifying the talent and developing them into a genuine A-grade footballer.... although the track record would suggest that to be true.

Of course it is true

I think pick 2 is for Petracca.

Roos is letting the world know we will trade. But the trade will be pick 3 or 4 or both. (PP & Frawley compo)

He cannot say that at this stage.

Hmm, I think a steak knife can actually hurt someone.

He's more like the seat covers thrown in with the new car.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
