I agree with the original post - it is really, really important that our CEO, as head of corporate decision-making, involve himself more in the football-specific decision-making at the club.

Because it has worked out so well in the recent past.

Sigh.

Point taken about PJ getting involved with footy dept, however the head of FD actually reports to PJ!

So if anyone here thinks PJ is not taking an interest in improving our dud list, you are all kidding yourselves. It might not be him directly , but he is the CEO and his eye will be firmly on getting members to sign up and attend games. It is all all interconnected

So you are suggesting that Jackson says to Mahoney, "Josh, make sure we improve the list".

Seriously you do not have a mortgage on opinion goose!

You did kinda leave yourself open in calling for the CEO to improve the list.

I'd offer a really good contract to Dangerfield or Boak to come home to Melbourne, talking 6 years, over a mil a year and offer pick4 and Toumpas as the trade, both free agents at the end of next year, if the club thinks they might leave they just might consider it, and the players are Victorian, an offer like that to come home is always worth looking at

Boak? lol leave a club that's on the up, a club captain and just signed a 5 year deal.

Not a chance in hel the guys bleeds power.

No, but I have a mortgage on an opinion goose.

I don't know what's worse; the repayments or the fact that he has to tell me what he thinks about EVERYTHING...

Absolutely the CEO has a role. He is running the busness and that business is winning games of football. Where he differs from our last CEO is he will let the experts worry about the detail but he will definately but all over the big picture. His decisions will impact on whether we can afford to payout contracts, he will be the one to make any case for priority pick, he will have a say in what we can afford in terms of offers to any free agents and players wanting a trade. He will consider the impact of list decisions on the bottom line and ability to sell the club.

Its not one or the other but the ability of a bunch of people to work together and make to right decisions for the club going forward.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
