Jay Kennedy-Harris: Jay played wing and high half-forward. He had a really solid game last week and I thought Jay backed it up this week, by playing his role well. He had five tackles, missed two and had zero fumbles, so that was a highlight of Jay’s game. I thought he was really clean around traffic. Jay often gained an advantage for us, which was really great to see on the day. He had a tendency to want to always play on after taking a mark or gaining a free kick, which is something we will address this week, as there are times he needs to be more composed and allow the play to unfold first. He kicked a really nice goal in the last quarter, just through repeat efforts and pressure in the forward line. We thought he played his role for the second week in a row.

As someone who watches a team move the ball at a snail's pace every week, to almost inevitably hand it back to the opposition anyway, I love the fact his instinct is to move the ball on quickly. There's obviously a balance needed, but I hope he keeps his natural game.

GWS is a disaster for us and the AFL. It's a failed experiment like the rugby league players brought into the AFL. Nobody supports them except the fools at AFL house. The players all want to leave and be in good clubs that win games. Many were high draft picks and have been shafted by this cruel twist of fate that they were born in the wrong year when Greatest Waste of Space was created and stole all our picks.

Just imagine if you took all the talent from GWS and divided it amongst the heavily struggling bottom 8 teams. The entire make up of the league would be miles better for it, with less blow outs, more even teams, a chance for any team to make finals in any given year.

But no, let's keep pushing ahead with a doomed Western Sydney experiment.

Had to laugh at the "we will address this" comment. How many times have we screamed at matches this year watching players hold up the ball, chip it around the forward line, then kick it to a contest and turn it over? The best teams move the ball fast, precise, and get goals with great ease. Our players are being taught to hold up the ball and wait for the flood of both teams, then kick to a contest where nobody has a chance to mark it cleanly.

And they wonder why we aren't scoring any goals!?

Jetta - deserves his spot on senior form.

JKH - two good weeks with Casey, gives us a better small forward option than Salem.

Blease - consistent form with Casey, gives us a line breaker who will speed up our transition or another small to hit the packs around goals.

OUT:

Gawn - team balance.

Salem - no seeing a lot of it playing forward pocket with the firsts. Would benefit from 100 minutes through the midfield with Casey.

Barry - doesn't look like getting near it. Has had a taste, back to Casey to continue development.

Our biggest issue atm is how slow and predictable we are moving into attack. The three ins, guys with line breaking speed and x-factor, should help address that.

Agreed, but absolutely NO WAY that the AFL will ever admit its grave error, let alone correct it ie disband GWS. That would be far too much loss of face...after all, they never get anything wrong :-)))

the statistics from the casey game regarding the number of 'missed tackles', 'fumbles' and the lack of tackles in general is quite concerning.

So many players not making tackles.
How can they possibly attempt the roos plan if they arnt tackling? and therefore how are any of our casey guys going to get a game in the seniors?

Where does Tappy get a look in? Taken to Darwin as emergency, misses a game at Casey where his size / strength would have been very handy in an overpowered side, consequently doesn't get mentioned in either game review, and so drops off the radar? Hardly a reward for good performance in prior weeks.

Presumably the wet MCG will quench our fire while Geelong will use some sort of oxy-acetylene flame that works underwater.

To clarify, it seemed to me that plenty of posters have overlooked Tappy in their 'ins', which was my point. I expect he would be given due and full consideration by the club insiders.
