  1. Secondly - Wrong - it was widely reported that Blease requested a trade at his exit interview. I have no doubt he would have been delisted anyway, but he did get in first.
  2. Sorry, I've had it all wrong - it must have been Blease who was responsible for our miserable performance over the last 6 years. Make that 8 years 'cause we would have been looking at him earlier We are going to be premiers this year. Your attitude is exactly the same as what you are complaining about with Sam. You must really hate yourself (that must be Blease's fault as well).
  3. A list of what 42 and we can pick one.
  4. And your years of AFL experience tell you that. We haven't developed anyone and until the club, the supporters and the mindless here realise this we have got years of pain ahead. I wish him good luck,
  5. Rated by most, in fact The Ox still rates Blease, along with N Brown and it looks like Geelong see something as well. The club has failed many players. ps First hand experience - the moon is made of cheese.
  6. So the it's the players not the club, that's why they were ALL rated in their draft years and haven't come on. Watts was a number one pick who I still rate, yet has not developed hardly at all - he must be lazy, because the club has nothing to do him not coming on as he should have. Had a quick look at big footy Geelong page, and if you take out the couple of Melbourne supporters bagging Blease, I'd say 40/60 in favour, which for a guy that can't get a regular senior game here is probably better than expected.
  7. The underlying theme amongst all the recruits is Melbourne recruited them. I find it hard to believe that we got them all wrong, and the fact that we have been unable to develop anyone says more about us than the individuals. These guys put faith faith that club knows best how to train and develop them. If players are commenting on 'how hard it is at another club' then Melbourne is the problem, not the players. If anyone thinks they're not trying their guts out, then seek help.
  8. Well I was at the game, it doesn't change my comment. There was poor disposal from all players at times, don't just single out the players you don't like.
  9. I think it's time you got your medication checked.
  10. My problem isn't with criticism. I have seen probably 6 Casey games live this year, and no matter how good a coach Roos is you cannot make judgements from sub standard recordings on a tape. He relies on assessments from Aliison. I would be interested on Allison's assessment on JKH around his "defensive efforts" and "not letting his man get free", you know the things that are the way we play at Melbourne, and every other Melbourne listed Casey player does. I was disappointed with this side of his game, especially in a team that was getting I wouldn't call Allison's reviews honest, I'd call them the message Melbourne wants to communicate. I wouldn't even call them accurate
  11. I mean if there are players that have their bags packed at the club then no matter what they do or how we'll they play at Casey they aren't going to get a crack. That's fine, I do however have a problem with rules for one and different rules for others. Reading Allison's review there was no mention of JKH's defensive (or lack of) efforts. He was continually sitting 30 meters off opponent who was picking up kicks at will. Michie, Strauss, Blease, Evans and co would have been slammed in Allison's review if it was them.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I think JKH is a great young talent and hopefully has a great future for us. But the comments on other players about his opponent had the better of him, he knows the defensive style we play, his opponent got ahead of him a couple of times had me convinced that these team rules applied to everyone. Apparently not. As I say above, if they are gone then they are gone, the club should stop the negatives just for the sake of it. Negatives can be said on just about every player in the comp.
  13. Reading the player review I am confused, maybe I don't understand footy anymore. JKH got 30 possessions, yet pad no attention to his direct opponent (Davies for most of the day who was probably 2nd BOG), gets congratulated for playing his role, Evans gets bagged for being by himself at stoppages, Michie got "out pointed" probably because JKH's opponent was running through as well and Blease struggled with ball use. - Everyone struggled with ball use - it was a shocker of a day, lucky to kick 30 mtrs into the wind. If these players have their bags stamped, I wish the club would stop criticising them to justify who they should play. I've seen a fair few Casey games this year and struggle at times with the reviews.
  14. Haven't seen him once down there.
  15. By far the most overrated player is a bit of a stretch as very few here rate him at all. He was recruited as a quick line breaker, one of those 70 meter players they talk about. What he has got that very few have is genuine straight line speed, so what do we do with him, for the last couple of years we play him in a small defensive forward role where he spends most of the time running away from our goals. He has been moved up the ground the last 4 or 5 weeks and has been in the best for just about all of them. As a wing / half back / high half forward he is at least he is heading towards the goals and looks a heap better.
  16. I have an issue with Allison's review on Bleasey. Having seen last weeks game live (not on the TV) my observation was there were a lot of Melbourne listed players that were poorer defensively than him, yet he seems to be continually berated for it. Allison talks about Blease knowing the defensive style of play we play at senior level, yet has a go for him going sideways and backwards in the second quarter. If no-one is presenting forward what option does he have? Isn't retaining possession and not turning it over "defensive style of play". He had a quiet second half, but was one of the very few reasons Casey was still in the game at half time. I reckon he's a bit hard done by.
  17. Apparently you were at a different game to the club, reporters and myself.
  18. Blease will never have the "tank" that so many here says he needs. The elite speed comes at a cost - endurance. Try looking up fast twitch v slow twitch fibres. From what I have seen he has had a couple of years trying to be the footballer Neeld wanted and sacrificed his natural ability to do so. It didn't work and his confidence seemed shot. I hope he can find that self belief again as he has a huge upside and can be a real weapon. I hope we get to see it again.
