Jesse Hogan ~ new 2 year deal

Now that he has signed a 2 year extension (virtually 3 years), it doesn't bother me if he does or doesn't debut this year.

Had he not signed, i would've definitely played him to give him a taste and increase the MFC appeal to him, but we obviously appeal plenty with his agreeing to an extension.

my info is that Jesse will make his debut against West Coast infront of his family if he gets through this game okay.

Roos and Mission basically told him he could play this week but strongly encouraged him to have a week at Casey first

He's essentially been ready to play for a couple of weeks but the club is not willing to take any chances

Sorry, but the real Paul Roos thinks differently:

really?

“If he plays really, really well this week – then next week, he might be a slight chance."

I'd say he left the kimono slightly open

Typical Roos.

If he kicks 2-3 goals in a Casey side virtually unable to win a game, I'd say he's a shoe-in for next week.

The Kid has one a B&F in 2's has been training the house down for a month and people want him to go to Casey and suffer 3 weeks of rubbish delivery , scoreboard beltings , very little excitement and sarounded by 6 or 7 blokes who know that there careers are finished and don't want to be there.

Exactly - he could get that same experience playing for the seniors. Baddum-tish.

Wasn't Watts played on Queens B/Day for revenue reasons? I know the answer!

Exactly why history should not repeat itself. Hogan kicking goals early next season will have the exact same effect on membership. If there is such a thing....

 Your reply brought a smile to my face Demonsterative. It was just a bit of gentle pot-stirring on my part. I have total faith in the current administration to make the correct call for all the right reasons.

You might be right dc, but the kimono vision disturbed me a little too much...

Think I might be the only 'lander at the G tomorrow. Sounds like everyone's making the long trip to Craigieburn to see Jesse Hogan play. I also heard that BBO is having an open bar at his place in Romsey after the game. Enjoy!

True. He's certainly having a late night tonight putting up the decorations for the 'land clan tomorrow.

Yes, there is still some friction over that matter dc. However, I am now retiring for the night in order to make an early start for Crazyburn tomorrow. (And to allow at least two breakfast stops on the way)

You know it's the cheap plonk from Aldi poured into a decent bottle.

Don't be lured by empty promises Moon.

Anyway, you are still fragile from the last encounter so i wouldn't risk it.

Wise you are. Skulling from goon bags isn't my thing. I'll stay clear.

Anyone still think Hogan is ready for next weeks game in WA? Did he play "really, really well" in the VFL today?

Anyone what thought before today that he would debut next week is deluded

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
