looking forward to his first game

About an hour ago I drove past AAMI park and saw Jesse walking back to the club with the MFC media Manager Ryan Larkin, and about 15m's behind them was a camera crew and journo. Might be completely coincidental, but it could also be to announce his re-signing.

picky [censored] aren't you

but I am....looking forward to it

so happy. But he isnt worth $500,000 a year just yet

Maybe not, but in the current FA climate that's the money we need to spend to make sure we hold other clubs at bay.

He's worth what it takes to secure him. It's a sellers market - any other team would take him at that price in a heartbeat.

its an investment, well worth the money, and lets be honest, we have it to spend, Frawley about Gone and Clark done, we have cash.

I believe the extension will see him paid $500k in 2016 and 2017, not this year or next.

So if he plays well next year, he may well be worth it by 2016...

Might be filming his retirement from afl football!

Who cares how much he's paid anyway? Still amazes me that supporters get hung up on what a player gets paid.

What a great positive sign for the club and supporters. The environment must be so good at the moment, makes you wonder about Chip and what he will do.

Chips stance is becoming increasingly silly. He's painted himself into a corner.

Cant believe he is in the position to extend his contract and has never played a game. Great news through very happy. watched him in a couple of preseason games and the hype is not missplaced.

His comments have been silly not his stance. Its about instant finals and lots of money.

100%.. he said that he wanted to know what direction the club was heading in,, well James, mate, a young kid who hasn't played a game and has world at his feet wants to stay..

Hoges probably just found out that his back is completely rooted and couldn't sign quick enough :)

Great result for both the club and Jesse, he will be worth the money long term

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
