You'd have to laugh at Collingwood supporters wouldn't you?

I remember when the trade happened they were all saying we were delusional for trading pick 20 for him which ended up being Tim Broomhead and now with Cloke struggling, you'd know they'd like to take that back wouldn't you.

HAHAHHAHAH

Broomhead has been BOG a few times in the VFL. Missed a lot of last year I think with glandular. All expectations are he'll be a player.

Dawes benefits from being an important leader and player with us. His replacement, who was cheaper in terms of money and draft pick has been Jessie White. Not to mention they have Ben Reid injured.

It's a win-win trade.

The question for Collingwood is whether they should've kept Dawes, Wellingham, H. Shaw, maybe even Jolly just for finals and gone after winning a flag this year. Hawthorn are faltering, Sydney are looking good but not amazing, Geelong look a bit past their prime, Port need a year or so more. Collingwood fans must love that their rebuild is looking good and that they'll be a competitive side for a long time and build under Buckley. But there must still be resentment that after winning a flag with a really young list they only tried the next year before tipping themselves out of the premiership window.

They've pretty much said to Swan and Maxwell it's unlikely you'll win another flag and to guys like Reid, Cloke and Pendlebury in their prime that they will go backwards before they go forwards.

Not a win-win trade until Broomhead plays a game and makes an impact. They could certainly use Dawes in their F50 atm.

I actually thought this topic was a pizztake when I first saw it. Where does that name have it's origins in?

This topic usually gets swept under the carpet, good to see someone get a handle on it.

It's a sweeping statement but wouldn't the pies have been better off using Broomhead early doors to add youthful vigor in replacement of Chris.

so the pies aren't swept off their feet ?

I don't know what it is for the Pies, but it is a huge win for us. Neeld was a horror and some of his moneyball recruiting was way off, but as far as the major/central part of his recruiting strategy he did get a few things very right.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
