no, i ran in to him once and had a little chat. Let's just say, the conversation i had and the tv intro he gave are consistent with one another. He just goes about explaining things a little differently.

Eg. when going from A to B, one would think to take the most direct route, whereas Kirk went to C & D before finding his way to B.

Sounds like Dermott Brereton

Hoping its Kirk, wasnt the most talented player but had the keep hard at it leadership on the field and lead the way in that bloods culture under Roos. 2 years coaching Freos midfield in their dominance plus hopefully another 2 or 3 under Roos (if he is the successor) should make his transition in to senior coaching a little easier than some others.

Surprising then that he was a grand finalist midfield coach.

Even more surprising that Ross Lyon would employ someone like that. Doesn't strike me as the type that suffers fools too well.

I've met Brett at albury sports club and had a drink with him and he speaks fine, he's a little different but knows the game inside out and knows the direction roosy is taking us inside out

2 years under Paul Roos would be Ideal for Ling or Voss and hopefully Paul Roos influence will still be around the club in a new job 2017

Voss no

Have you noticed that umpires love pinging the kids for holding the ball no attempt

what does this have to do with Roos' successor?

Petrie is still one of the best forwards in the league on his day and Macca not having a good game a couple of weeks ago was a learning experience not a big deal. Welcome Macca back in!!

Mono brow and moonsht, just making some well educated comments. Would love to have someone give a decent replacement for roos but it's hard, so started making some observations

Ps deeflog* a coach that knows how to win

Chris Scott god no! Throws his arms up in the coaches box at every umpire decision. He is far from a coach that knows how to win. What happend last week?

[censored] of the highest order. He isn't a good coach thats for sure. Its record speak for itself.

Indeed, they were very well educated comments. Some of your finest. Nice.

Kirk wants to get the best out of himself regardless of talent just more so desire, which I'm sure would make him a good coach even though he think a little different, players like Pedersen Bail etc would thrive under him and a couple of more seasons under Roosy would both him and the club in good stead!

Having re-watched Open Mike from 2009, it just reinforced in my mind how good a coach Brett Kirk would be if he decided to coach Melbourne. A year or two as Roosy's understudy, and the transition from Roos to Kirk would be seamless. That's what we want!

On the same page as Roos it's seems, there has been a rumour flying around ( take it as a grain of salt) Jude Bolton could also be a target!

That rumour is carp though.

Bolton is an accredited player manager and has a career in the media that is growing.

He has no interest in coaching.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
