so dumb of dawes really. It was intentional, and he had been close to doing something like this since he came back this season (see Jaensch).
It is great he is physical, but his physicality after they have disposed of the ball is just clumsy, has done this a few times and was bound to get caught.

Hope he learns from it as he is vital to our structures.

that's great he sends that out to the opposition, but now he'll be sending it out to the opposition from up in the stands. Frankly i'd prefer if he kept his physicality smart, and keeps himself on the field. He has been knocking blokes down after they get rid of the ball in every game, was bound to get reported soon. Almost could have for the Jaensch one, but he hid it very well.

Agree with the theory but not the methodology

You can achieve the same thing by delivering a shirtful of sore ribs - like he did to the Adelaide bloke. And not get cited.

“We would’ve loved to have challenged it – there’s no question,” he said.

“Sometimes you take your punishment, rather than getting an extra week, so there’s no doubt that we felt that Dawesy – based on some of the other decisions and I don’t want to say it was an incorrect decision – but we probably disagreed with the decision.

“You go and risk another week and you just can’t do that with the unpredictability the way it is.”

Absolutely right call as we want to maximise the chances of beating Collingwood. Logical and pragmatic. I'm bemused that some DL posters thought we should go to the tribunal and risk the extra week.

Nice to get a quiet protest in though and one of the advantages Roosy has with his slot on 360 as he said much the same thing on Monday night (before the decision had been formally reached and conveyed to the AFL though he implied they were not going to challenge it). Ridiculous that it was medium impact. Should have got a reprimand at worse.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
