Surprised Georgiou isn't having the week off, could do with a rest after a combination of preseason, first 7 rounds as a first year player and then running into the pitbull last week. Not sure if running around in the magoo's will freshen him up properly

Hoping to get on my on my bike for a look at least for the second half. Will have my eyes on Riley, Tapscott and Blease to see how they are going.

Maybe. But he's used to hard tough senior footy. Plus he could take advantage of the AFL bye I guess in a couple of weeks. If he passed the concussion test and all the subsequent ones then he probably wants to push his case to get back in the side.

Our injury list is diminishing. With 15 at Casey tomorrow (give or take a possible replacement if James Frawley isn't right) here's the list of outs:-

Injured: James Harmes, Jesse Hogan, Max King, Jake Spencer Jack Trengove

Suspended: Dean Kent

Retired: Mitch Clark

Gawn had to be the replacement option for Frawley, but he really needs to string matches, form and fitness together at Casey.

I hope they make a decision on Frawley early so Gawn can play at Casey if not required and keep one of the other emergencies in reserve.

I think the above team is ample reason why AFL sides should have a standalone team.

It's not fair on the Casey players who have to be dropped back to the development league, then also at finals time when we send most blokes off for operations.

And most importantly, it's also not fair on the MFC having so many of our players playing under a coach that his primary objective is to win playing a style he wants them to play. When we have a coach with his own game plan, with numerous AFL players working on specific areas of their game, somethings going to give.

We don't need to wipe the Casey relationship, just the alignment with the Casey Scorpions. It just has to happen.

Please do not perpetuate the myth that was started on the board this week, it was and still is rubbish

Is Welsh on the MFC payroll?

If Casey plays finals this year, and they need to recall 10 or so players to replace the MFC listed players, what game plan will those new Casey players play?

I'm not intending to fuel the myth, however it is totally understandable that the Casey senior coach would have his own ideas on how his team would play.

I get the feeling Spence has had an operation.

... better for Us, & better for the Scorps as well.

I have no problem with 2 teams playing out at Casey.

So whilst we are trying to get the Club back financial, where are we going to find the $500K minimum we need to field a standalone team?

- increase in crowd numbers should a reasonable number of reserves games be played at the MCG during our home games

- possible increase in members numbers should more reserves home games be played closer to the CBD

Given that I think it would help improve our senior team (as new draftees will be developed 100% how we want them to), I'd imagine taht will also help increase the above.

The grounds are far more superior these days. Is that because there is less footy being played on them becuase there are no reserves games? It could be argued as many games get played on the MCG now as what used to occur when the suburban grounds hosted AFL/VFL games.

How does the Casey Football Club like it at finals time when most of the players that got them to finals are not allowed to play?

No chance of reserves games at the G.

However, if we could play before a Melbourne game in walking distance to G then I agree. Punt Road would be great but I highly doubt we could share with Richmond, would need to put up stands or something at training ground.

New man in charge now Boydie, strike while the iron is hot!

I know it's doubtful of regular games at the MCG, we won't know unless we ask. If we ask and get rejected, then I'm satisfied with that. Until then, we are some chance.

A few years ago now we played a game on Punt Road oval (not sure if it was against the Tigers or not), and they broadcast it on the big screens at the MCG. We need to come up with that sort of thing. Gill's all about the fans and grass-roots footy - we should be the ones looking at something.

people put up the same type arguments. some years back.

I think that time, it was about the Olympic Park Swimming Center/Glass House. understand the concerns, but its the lack of a 'having a go attitude', that put this club where it is, 45 years back & counting.

.... now we are only an organisation, not so much a club.

We need to take a leaf out of JViney's book that he showed last weekend, & take things between the teeth & go for them. show leadership & the rest will follow into place.

So being a 2pm game if we find out that Gawn or Fitzpatrick isn't out there we can probably assume they'll be in for Frawley.

They probably will not play 1-2 players incase they are required as emergency anyway. Often have 1 "travelling" emergency

I think Georgiou won't play and wil be on stand by in case Frawley does not play.

If that happens he plays back and Garlo forward.

With how wet it is, this will be a in and under slog.

Georgiou isn't one of the named emergencies so it would probably cost the club a fine.

Am I behind the times?

Wasn't 14 the maximum number of AFL players permitted to play in a VFL game?

Did something change this year?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
