The second line of the two-line article on the MFC website says "Viney challenged his two-match suspension for rough conduct at the appeals board and his initial penalty was upheld."

I think Burgs might've been a little bit excited when he wrote that and wasn't concentrating.

Or, as Hendel put it long ago:

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
For the Lord Jack, omnipotent reigneth
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Thrilled but also poignant to wish Lynch the best in his recovery and hopefully no hard feelings.

It is a great result for us, Viney will still need to temper his game somewhat though.
Jack needs to harness his aggression and use it at appropriate times.

He wasn't bull at a gate in this instance, but there are times he is.

Viney needs to find two speeds, not just one.

I don't think this incident deserved to even be cited, but hopefully Jack can make a positive out of it.

God knows we need him this weekend, we are a big chance.

Barrett is a smarmy tool

Viney free to play. Hot damn....GO DEES

Even mentioning his name gives the ambulance chasing gutter crawling grub more oxygen than he deserves. We should just be ignoring the [censored] he likes it when people get angry at him as long as they're clicking his articles. Controversy creates cash, Barrett is playing a classic heel but he's just a pencil-necked geek.

Happy with the result, but a little bemused that the appeal went our way. I thought we were really unlucky with the initial hearing, but overturning that is a different matter.

As played on SEN today 'Freedom, Freedom' and 'the truth will set you free' - gave me a great laugh and I'm a pretty happy person right now...

Great use of the wrestling term pencil-necked geek,Classy Freddie Blassie would be proud.

What a great week for this club. The re-branding of it is well and truly underway.

1. We beat the Crows against the odds in Adelaide. It was a bloody sensational win.

2. Our young gun, Jack Viney, is then the victim of a truly disgraceful tribunal decision. The entire football community gets behind him. Footage is shown throughout the week that depicts our young bull playing the very opposite of 'bruise free' football. Everyone in the continent watches it.

3. The new regime at the MFC stands behind our young bull and makes a statement to the AFL world - it appeals the decision.

4. Given the history of unsuccessful appeals, quite unbelievably, against the odds, our appeal is upheld.

For the first time in a while, it feels really good to be a Demons supporter.

Thank you Paul Roos. Thank you Peter Jackson. Thank you Josh Mahoney. And thank you Jack Viney.

Special mention to the 22 players who took the field last weekend, the assistant coaches and Mr Grace QC.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
