Post match discussion - Round 7

Good question. He looked as weak as [censored] today.

That opportunity he had at goal in the third qrt I think he should have kept running and drawn the opposition player from Dawes and hand balled it over to him to kick the easy goal.

Instead he had a shot from 35 odd meters out and missed.

Was not on his game tonight but hey we still WON.

What a great win. I'm so excited at the changes I see in the team and the way they are playing. Every week just a little bit better. Good on you boys. The song was song loud and clear in this household tonight.

Jamar has been ridiculed on this site from a number of posters lately.

Time to give him his dues he was good tonight and looked strong.

Also liked that mark and goal he kicked too.

A toast to Jonesy as well. For whatever reason he just couldn't get his hands on it, so he responds by laying the most tackles on the ground and kicking a crucial goal.

At half time they showed footage of him pre match and he looked sore , maybe tightness in his hammy or possibly buttock, also went down to the rooms on his own before the match. We are lucky he saw the game out I reckon!

They showed Chip walking from behind and he is out of wack - back or something . He needs not to go to ground when tackling .he worked hard .

I don't want to go too early on this but - we're back! Pigs can fly Melbourne can win interstate. Anything is possible.

Now Reverend I think you may have had a wee dram to much.

Cork back in the single malt.

However IMHO there is nothing like beating the crows in Adelaide.

Jones doesn't pass in the 50 arc

He is good but pisses off a lot of players

Can't see him being dropped in the next five years though .

Saw that, which makes his effort more admirable. He's a ripper.

One game out of the 8 atm and we should have beaten gws saints and gc.

Is it possible we are much better than we realise?

Lets not get ahead of ourselves a Gutsy win by our Finger tips . I dont want to rain on the parade but still plenty of bad habits to get rid of

After last weeks Game I said the positive was we no longer capitulate.

Today's game proved that in Spades !

For now I am happy and ecstatic about the win and we all should be so . Lets just hope there are more before seasons end and I will dine out on each and everyone of them . But for now the change is happening lets enjoy the ride both the ups and downs in the knowledge that maybe we have finally turned the corner and seasons need no longer be like having teeth drawn!

Agreed. There was a looooooong period in that match where we simply couldn't buy a goal and it took a pretty soft free to Dawesy to break the drought.

There is still a mountain of work ahead but these are very positive steps in the right direction in terms of structure and effort.

Do we have to start the negatives? Every supporter knows where we are at, but we can celebrate a win, all I care about tonight was we didn't wilt, we got in front and stayed there, it's a great start...and the players know for it to happen again they just have to reproduce

Jones with another Captain's goal, why this feller wasn't made captain a few years back is [censored] beyond me.

If Jones kicked the captains goal then Grimes made the captains spoil. Very nice work by our skippers.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
