Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Players to target at the end of the year

Really? He's the flakiest of the lot.

I wouldn't burn a top 20 pick on him.

Think Barry Brooks, John Meesen, Matt Leuenberger, Ayce Cordy... even bloody Kreuzer is a disappointment.

You don't take rucks with early picks unless you can't miss.

And he has barely shown flashes.

As a forward, he's far from convincing, but I think ruck will be his position.

A bit hard on Leuenberger, probably the best of that lot but injury prone.

...but I agree with you on Wright. Looks to be a ruckman and the only reason he will go as a high pick is some desperate sides needing KPP's.

Exactly my thoughts on Berger, but that would make him not worth the pick, wouldn't it?

If Wright is similarly fragile I'd err on the side of caution.

4 and 5 for Danger is a bit rich. I love him but the idea is that Top 5 talent brings stars and giving away two for one player is the opposite of that.

Trading in a proven AFL PROVEN superstar vs 2 POTENTIAL superstars.

People over-rate picks. I'd trade 4+5 in a heartbeat for an AFL proven superstar. Anyone who wouldn't hasn't learnt anything from the past 7-8 years. We've had more top draft picks than any club (bar expansion clubs) and still haven't landed a superstar. Just because a player is picked early doesn't guarantee he will be a star. Look at the previous #1 picks; Gibbs, Kreuzer, Watts, Scully, Swallow, Patton. None are stars, in fact none are anything better than B grade at this stage. If the draft were done again today, none of them would be taken top 5. It's luck of the draw, and if you have the opportunity to trade in a superstar, you do it.

Basically we need players to replace the 22 that consistently has played this year. Whether they're on our list and just injured (Trengove,Toumpas, Hogan), they still need to be replaced and become back up

Terlich: HB flanker

Bail: HF, Fpocket

Mckenzie: Midfielder

Gawn: Forward (he just doesnt cut it at this stage to be playing AFL)

Matt Jones is questionable

agreed JVFP, we need to keep churning to improve/replace our list from 18th player down. & those who are 28Yrs plus. Keep the older who are the good leaders, recruit RO'K....

& keep looking @ free agents & trades/draft is all we can do.

Possibly one of the worst serious suggestions I've seen on this forum.

First the Vickery suggestion now Riewoldt... Give it a break FFS. Riewoldt only shines because all the other Tigers forwards are duds. Grimes is Melbourne through and through, no he's not the most talented player but his leadership is undeniable, he's not the captain for no reason. He's also still young, he can and will improve as time goes on.

And again what the f is the big problem with Watts? Day in day out I hear our own supporters bagging him when there are others at fault and just him, and he is not even the worst on field. Give him a f'k'n rest.

Ok so we all want to keep a turnover merchant and an indifferent player and not investigate what it would take, to get hold of a bloke who can ( CAN) take a game by the throat! a match winner no less have I got that correct?

Now let me see exactly how many of these have we got right now?????

Or is it because you guys don't rate Reiwoldt? Is that right?

Ok then so if someone like ah Petrie or another key forward ( insert name........................................) was interested in coming across we would say no to a deal like this? have I got that right?

Coz if that is the case then we may as well not investigate any potential contracted player swaps because we are ah too unwilling to roll a dice?

is that right? Too precious, too comfortable ah and two more, too predictable and complacent to try.

Ah I think I get it!!

And if unwilling to trade these two are there other ah, too valuable players we would not trade out??

I think as Sydney have proved you have to be totally bold and totally ruthless to build success, to bad not enough on this site want it enough!

ah, I get it even more now!

Riewoldt is a spud, he only shines because he plays for a very average f'k'n team.

If Jack rewoldt came to Melbourne I would stop supporting for the time he was with us, absolutely hate him

No you wouldn't, i bet you'd embrace and learn to love him.

In what position are we to say no to a 2 time Coleman medalist?

I'd take him in a heartbeat. And yes, i do believe he needs an attitude shift, which we would need to implement.

Would only bother with ROK if he's a delisted free agent.

exactly... I expect the swans to delist him, or force him to retire; as they have so many kids coming thru that want games.

they may retire him with a 1Yr pension. But I doubt it.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
