agree JORDAN SCHRODER, is a must target. 21yo. winner of Liston trophy in 2013 and NOT getting a go in Cats midfield. Stars at VFL level and squeezed for opportunity.

How many guys leave Geelong if Geelong don't want them gone? He's going nowhere.

Mumford is the one that got away and Roos got him away, not saying Shroder but if they have any players of interest to us I'm sure we will have a go.

Spoken to him have you?

Savage left hawthorn for more game time... If we offer schroder more game time we are a chance.

is Tex Walker an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season?

Tex walker is out of contract at the end of 2015, but teams are going to become more and more willing to trade players the year before if they feel they will lose them in order to get better compo

I am pretty sure they giftwrapped him and Byrnes for us to get them out the door quicker.

Patton moves about as fast as a kitchen sink. No thanks.

The 3 midfielders are obvious talents but they all spend a lot of time going backwards and sideways at half back due to a lot of the supporting cast. The worry is you'd need to take them backwards in development to teach them how to play proper football if they get entrenched in this crud. Collingwood are doing that with Taylor Adams right now. Tyson might've been lucky to miss so much footy in his first 2 years.

We need to get blokes like O'Rourke and Plowman, guys who haven't been as exposed to the GWS style

I disagree regarding Treloar, Shiel, and Cameron as they appear to be the only three young guns producing well and on a consistent basis - especially for their age.

For me these three are "blue chip" youngsters, if any are obtained there is a very high chance they will continue to perform and produce at a high level.

As for O'Rourke he hasn't really proven himself at the AFL level due to a lack of opportunity and Plowman being a bigger body should take longer. Thus both are far more risky.

I would cough up pick 4 for Treloar or Shiel without hesitation or regret, if it were for the other two we'd be essentially picking up a new draftee with a couple of years in the system

I agree.. But i wouldnt cough up pick 4 straight for Shiel (i would from Trealor), Shiel has not proven enough to be worth it. I would like them to combat Shiel with something

The question should be "What would you be prepared to add to pick 4 to get Shiel?"

lets say we have 800k freed up from Mitch Clarks contract and other delistings (will assume Frawley stays)

what would you prefer

Spend 800k on Jeremy Cameron

Spend 800k on Adam Treloar and Dylan Shiel

Agree, going to cost us at least a mil thought, pick 4 at least though.

Surprised at the lack of mention re Brisbanes young mids, id consider Mayes or Aish with 1st an 3rd round pick. They are in dire need of talls so they would welcome another early pick. Lets face it, it wont be hard to convince a young player to leave Brisbane

absolutely worth it, i'd give pick4 + Frawley in a heartbeat

we get ourselves a genuine coleman medal type with a decade of footy in him that would be a massive piece of the puzzle

yes I am aware we have Hogan.. maybe

possibly pick 4 and someone like Blease for Shiel and Kristen Jaskch?

Blease isn't worth anything of value. If anybody really wanted him they could pick him up in the rookie draft after we delisted him.

Absolutely, I am all for a juicy 5 year deal to Cameron, and would happily give them pick 4, pick 22 and Blease to get it over the line, if we lose Chip I wonder if we could use the compo pick to wrangle one of Sheil or Treloar into the deal as well, that would be absolutely perfect imo

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
