St Kilda are crap. Their wins have been against us and GWS FFS, hardly finals form. They were dominated for extended periods in both games and could easily (and should, today) have lost both.

He really was a poor #1 pick. Talent-wise, the worst of the past decade IMO. Looked good in 2010 but had weaknesses then and has not improved these an iota since then. Lucky for him that he can escape the scrutiny playing for a team that nobody cares about, and lucky for us that we got another bite at the cherry.

Josh Kelly does look VERY good, although Tyson's only 2 years older and was just as impressive last week. Then there's Salem.. so I don't think we need to be too worried.

Have you contemplated that both wins were against weakened (MFC) or developing (GWS) teams? Both sides are assessed as being bottom quartile sides this year. And St Kilda were also assessed similarly. They have not really beaten any side of real merit.

You are going to need between 12 to 15 wins over the year to make the 8. Notwithstanding their relatively easier draw, where are those wins going to come from?

I wouldn't de-value St Kilda's 2-0 start, regardless of opposition.

They only beat what was put out to them and full credit to them. Plus it helps when their gun forward is back to career best form.

I think st Kilda can win 10 games this year. Finals are probably a bit our of their reach but you never know.

The last two games illustrate the difference between three well drilled sides - quality.

Moving past the pleasure of saying the MFC was well drilled (we looked like a team - hallelujah), the Saints have a star player still enjoying his prime - neither we or the Giants have that just yet.

The hubris on here before the Saints game was startling - especially considering where we are coming from.

As Bernie Vince said last week - we need everyone on the ground pulling int the same direction at near capacity to win games because we don't have those few 'star' quality players that exist in our league.

Whatever you wish to call them - there are about 40 of these players every year (maybe less?) and in close games they are the ones shaping the result to their side.

Roos can get us well drilled but in games that can go either way - we are going to struggle.

Saints have been outplayed in both their games this year, finishing and injuries cost us

Wasn't just Cameron though, they missed a stack of simple shots late.

You're right though. Port dominated Round 1 last year. Total dominance. This year, St Kilda struggled. For periods we were unquestionably better. Overall, we had no polish in front of goal, but if we had we'd have won. Major difference, poor comparison.

There will come a time soon where GWS will need to consider if he is in their best 22. The only thing balanced in his favour is his elite endurance. Gets the ball but seriously torches it time and time again. Too small to hold or break tackles. We certainly dodged a bullett with the return we got for him.
