And what your asking for has nothing to do with the win pledge.

It's just a means by which some supporters choose to provide additional support to the Club.

Nothing more.

And what a few on here are saying is that they are frustrated there is another fundraising inititative aimed at a tapped resource.

Nothing more.

I don't object - how could I? - to those supporters who want to kick in a bit more. Hell, at $20 a win, if we win ten games that would be about 0.08% of the average player's annual wage. Many a mickle makes a muckle.

To those who point out that it's not compulsory - duh! A previous poster called this club initiative "tacky", and so it is.

What's wrong with a pie night?

May be we can have a pie night in 2018 after our Captain holds up the Premiership Cup

I don't get the angst but each to their own. What i would say is that whilst we're forced to sell 2 games a year to the NT we are going to have to keep finding ways to raise revenue.

As someone said (Nasher?) its just a glorified tin ratlle and no more or less tacky than the raffle at the ground, the competitions they ask you to pay to enter or the scratchies they [censored].

Nothing. Would you go?

The club should have a range of way to raise revenue from the supporter base and then we have the freedom of choice.

It's not "tacky" or tasteless. It's an option to the supporter base.

It's an option open to die hard supporters who can afford a little more than they normally give.

If you cannot afford more or can't stomach the request, ignore the email.

Why whinge or moan about it.

Some supporters want to see change before we go giving our hard earned away.

You do understand the scheme don't you ? Give away hard earned is predicated on there being change and that change is winning !

The huge lift in spirit I get when we win, no matter what else is happening around me is worth another 20bucks out of my kick.

Nothing like, particularly early in the weekend.

Some years ago when the NBL was played in winter it was wonderful to go to the basketball on Friday night and come away with a win ( tigers used to do that regularly then ). It set up the weekend nicely.

Has not happened with the Dees in living Memory.

No Friday nights and no wins at any time of the weekend tends to make winter weekends bleak.

Any win makes me feel euphoric but even a Saturday win sets up Saturday night and Sunday soooo nicely

We just need to look at it with an 'each to their own' objectivity.

Me personally, cannot afford to be giving 20$ per win to the club. I'd spend that minimum each time I go to the game, and for 10 wins, personally I'd prefer to buy $200 of merchandise.

To those who can and want to donate brilliant, thanks for adding to the coffers!

I think some who can't or don't want to donate feel like they're being pressurised into doing it. Being a supporter isn't a competition and he who donates the most money is not the 'best' supporter. It's simply a fun mechanism the club introduce to differentiate from the standard, would you like to donate to the club email.

I won't be donating to this scheme, and I don't give a hoot who does or doesn't.

If you're willing to waste your hard earned time talking red and blue with me and every other headcase on here, you're doing something for the club. And every bit helps.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
