We need this guy to be a 200 game player for us. Still our midfield will be one of the youngest in the AFL but hopefully an exciting season awaits us, with some success. Tyson and Hogan should provide something for us next year.

.....

This has been quite remarkable recruiting. The best I can remember from the MFC. We will have a very competitive side next year.

So, not old enough to remember Jim Cardwell's amazing (solo, just him and a cheque book, no draft, no spotters, no bs) recruiting 1953-5 then ? (I don't either but vaguely remember enjoying the results over the next decade) Edited by monoccular

I understand your hesitant optimism completely, but at least this time or young unproven midfield contains highly rated potential kids (Tyson, Viney, Toumpas, pick 9), a couple of developing kids with who have shown a bit (Michie, M Jones and some of our existing younger inexperienced players), some players with 3+ years experience who should be easy to take a step up under Roos/Stone (Trengove, Grimes, Watts) and a senior midfield leader (Jones).

If we can snare Vince or Cross and they can play the rule of number 2 and 3 mids for a year or two, we suddenly have a core that may come together.

None of those players have question marks for the wrong reasons. They might not have developed as we'd have liked bit they aren't the unfulfilled potential, poorly behaved or NQR group we've had in the last decade. Yet.

Time will tell. Stone for Royal may be the most important change we've made all off season.

Pretty sure we said all the same things after drafting Scully, Trengove, Gysberts with Blease, Strauss & Grimes. Not saying I'm unhappy with our trades but there's a lot of water to go under the bridge before I start feeling full-blown optimism.

Seen very little of Sheed he is hard at it and a good player who will play from Round 1 next year. Hard to judge the effect he will have at the next level, stood out in the colts with his ball winning ability and I wanted to have a real good look at him after the championships but with the broken collarbone and already having the knowledge he would go first round Subiaco put him in cotton wool for the season as they had no chance of making finals.

Stevie Armstrong is his coach at Subiaco Colts. On what Iittle I saw of Sheed I would describe him as almost a carbon copy of Matt Priddis, only he has a better kick. Speed could be a question mark but has excellent hands and is better around goal than Priddis

Thanks 'Pennant', that collar bone has caused some issue's for those of us that like to keep a bit of an eye on who's who in the draft but I'm sure the club's will have him well pegged by now. Funny how WC are saying they need more pace around the mids but Sheed is seen as their no.1 target. Maybe he is, maybe he's not.

its amazing isnt it

What an absolute [censored] he is

I actually think it is [censored] amazing that you got this post through the moderators.

So now I know the word to use when I get out of control.

He is way better than anyone from this draft, including Boyd.

From what little I've seen of Tyson, I'd agree.

Just the way he moves in and out of traffic, he is exactly what we need.

I chatted to a mate who thought Tyson was more impressive as a junior - than anyone this year.

Dom Tyson appears to be a steal for us.

Tyson and Michie will hopefully be Misson's time to shine.

My old man lives in WA, watches WAFL and thinks Michie is already there.

Reckons the kid is a go-getter and is highly rated in WA, obviously he isn't that well known in Vic.

Can play, will play.

Your missing the point, Tyson fits our needs more so than than any player in the top end of the draft. It has nothing to do with being better.

exactly, it's all about needs.

we desperately need an extractor. those at the pointy end of the 2013 draft aren't that.

dom tyson is.

Crouch is an extractor, maybe we knew he'd still be there at 9 and added Tyson as a bonus.

Judging from Tysons highlight reel, he is more impressive than anyone in this draft.

I would not be surprised to see them take Acres, Beau Waters is shot and Acres could immediately slot in as HBF who can rotate through the middle, he is a good user of the football and sets up play across half back. West Perth colts used to find the ball and always look for Acres who would set up their plays. This was one of the main reasons he is so highly rated and has been well regarded for many years coming through the junior ranks, regularly getting high possessions and maintaining a presence. Will not find it as easy to accumulate at AFL level but the kid can run & carry is not shy at demanding the footy or going in where it hurts if needed. Disposal is also very good.

IMO he is a better player than Sheed but that is to say they are both good but Acres has more tools and they should with all luck forge long careers. Meth Coast always keep their cards close to their chest so whilst Sheed has been training with them my mail is no promises have been made and they have stated they will take who they feel is best available.

We will all find out in another 6 weeks

I meant in regards to reducing injury, he became famous for the track record he had at Sydney.

Along with the use of the Scully compo this deal will begin to remedy some of the errors of the past.

As long as this guy stays on the park.

Dom: it's exciting to be wearing the red and blue. I was impressed with the presentation from the Dees and am excited for what's to come.

Dom: definitely playing most of the games on the MCG is a great prospect.

So, should he have gone for Cillingwood then ? :-(
