Not really related to MFC but what do people reckon the future will hold for Al Clarkson if Hawthorn lose tonight? will they consider moving him on as that will be 3 big chances at premierships in 4 years wasted.

2008's win helps him, but who knows? They may well say, let's go with someone else. The only problem is, who's better than Clarkson? Lyon, Roos (maybe)? They're all tied up. I reckon they'll stick with him due to a dearth of options.

Replace him with Mark Neeld

I would vote for that

They have such a promising side, a very good assistant that suits their make up might be a good option to take over. I'm reminded of when Scott took over at Geelong. With or without Clarko, geez I'd like us to have the talent the Hawks possess.

I would love to see how a so-called "shitcoach" would do if given the reigns of a top of the ladder side. I suspect he'd do MUCH better than people would generally assume.

Like Chris Scott was gifted a top team and a premiership.

He's been there a long time, & for a while I wondered if he may come to us, thinking Roos may go elsewhere.

Its turned out this way, so I think he may get one more there with the Hawks, after a fine season.

Are you suggesting Simpson stay there?

Your kidding arnt you ????!!!!!????

Clarkson inherited a rabel.... He rebuilt that team like we could only dream roos can do for us.

Sorry... Obviously confused you. If you read my post I am talking about Chris Scott, not Clarkson.

Scott was handed a top 2 team and a free premiership.

However you are right, Clarkson rebuilt the Hawks.

Can't believe how sloppy both teams were defensively tonight for 2 of the best 3 teams in the league. Clarko sure would've come under some heat but I think he would've survived, but the subsequent performance review might have been messy

Yeah that's exactly what i am suggesting, if the Hawks don't win the flag maybe it's time for a change, Clarko has been there a while and i know alot of Hawthorn supporters who are starting to doubt the teams ability to win big finals, although they got over that last night i reckon haha.

but yeah, my suggestion is, if they don't win the flag from this position which imo they should, Freo are good but i'm not sure they will be good enough to beat Hawthorn in a grand final a tthe G then would they look at maybe installing Simpson simply because the change can sometimes help them take that extra step?

don't get be wrong i'd much rather Simpson come to MFC but..

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
