Good. The impression was otherwise.

He isn't a Melbounre person. He's a media person. The same goes for Mike Sheahan.

I not sure public utterances about the Club from any of past ringleaders of the circus is appropriate or needed. There are enough precedents there with past Presidents and CEOs.

So to paraphrase...

He is a media person and part of his role is to discuss football matters publicly,

except about the MFC

even though he isn't a Melbourne person.

LOL.

And no other Club has been under AFL hypercare financial and resource support like MFC.

I'll give you two. GWS and Gold Coast.

Any other sweeping statements?

G Lyon was Captain of the MFC for 7 years..he was not the ringleader of a circus..

Show some respect you bitter little man...you really have been pouring it out today...

Garry made some mistakes, he has admitted that but as a past CAPTAIN he is one who is entitled to speak his mind.

If you do not want to listen...Turn it off.

I'm not sure why there is so much anger towards Barrett.

He's doing his job. If he didn't report on matters such as these events and Mondays decision on the PP, we'd be none the wiser.

Keep up the good work, Damo..

:P

True to form. He is a media person that can speak about the Melbourne Football Club but should not speak on behalf of the Melbourne Football Club.

They are start up clubs with a known development program. I wouldn't expect you to work that out.

When did Lyon issue a statement on behalf of the club?

I must say I have seen this thread on the home page feed since yesterday titled with the dou** b*gs name, and only now I chose to click it.

I must say i can't stand him, I can't stand his voice, his glasses, and his co**y attitude, his reports and his allegedly intellectual input. I love hearing him get booo'ed when welcomed on the footy show and I can't wait for the day there is no more time for him in the vast world of football.

Reading what the scum wrote about us in this weeks sliding doors makes my blood boil, we have poached brett Allison and Ben Mathews, both have connections to Roos, not sure how we are robbing other clubs of their assistants.

Don't seem to remember a fuss when Essendon poached Wellman when he had just signed a contract with us.

No! He would regard this as 'clever recruiting', since it was one of the 'power houses' that pulled it off.

It certainly set as backwards, as Wellman was a competent coach.

But as a cellar dweller trying to climb up a few steps, we'd be seen by Barrett as poachers.

Names such as his need to be kept in the memory for retribution when we are again a successful club and can snub him for his past reporting crimes.

Unfortunately that is just another blatant example of hypocritical reporting to an agenda. It is too prevalent.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
