Over to you Peter Jackson - Supporters are Broken

How long does it take to make a team so strong that rookies and players coming back from injury have to EARN a spot through consistent hard work and performances?

I guess we'll have to wait and see because only then can success be maintained season after season.

Well maybe my kids, or perhaps their kids, will find out the answer.

A pathetic soulless mess. If it was an animal you'd do the humane thing and put it down to save it suffering any further.

I've just about had it with this club. I really have. It's just a joke that never ends, with players that either don't give a [censored], or give a [censored] but aren't good enough to do anything about it.

The anger is well and truly turning to apathy. We lost to GWS today and I barely care.

yeah, hate to admit it but l watched the first half then couldn't stand it anymore so went to movies to see Wolverine, checked scores on mobile couple of times but l've had it this year.

I went for a walk in the rain for a burger at half time today. Left the phone at home.

I am over getting worked up with this list of under achieving cream cakes.

Jackson will fix this joint up though, as long as the incoming President is prepared to work with him in unity.

The footy dept would not be a very happy workplace at the moment

Jackson has told them their development and recruitment stink and there will be wholesale changes in staff

They are dead men walking and their minds would be elsewhere

Understandably this would rub off on the players and not be very conducive to their confidence and team spirit

Will probably get worse until the season ends

I hope management (Jackson) realise this and take steps to minimise the rot

I once worked for a large company that pre-announced a 20% retrenchment 4 months in advance (no-one named)

There was not much work done in those 4 months and morale plummeted

I am glad you are not my stockbroker. Trading early first rounders or late second rounders e.g. Toumpas, Watts is not a great way to get ahead. But I agree this playing list sh&ts me big time! Over paid pampered so and so's who will keep burning coaches until something or someone transforms the whole place.

Oh but the on the contrary Hood. I in fact have been a regular trader on the ASX and have been since 18 years of age. A company called Karoon (KAR) paid for my apartment last year. I dont rate Toumpas and Watts therefor to me a 2nd round pick is more generious towards melbourne than the oposition teams.

This, combined with your user name, is quite amusing.

At the risk of being howled down, didn't most of us think this would be the way it went? Our last 4 games have been poor and the club is in the middle of significant change. We were insipid but the sky is not falling in.

Thankyou rtg, it amuses me why everyone else seems so shocked

its going to take more than one or two people to change this club.... We don't need super heroes.... We ALL need a different mind set.... It starts with us, the members and supporters.... If we want change, then we have to change.... PJ can't do it for us...

"I watch teams like North Melbourne and many others who at least give their heart and soul to supporters. The MFC list are the complete opposite."

agree. All the coaching panel must go. I can see about 12 blokes again being delisted. They are no desperate or intense for AFL footy.

He's been working with J Cameron...

I am sure that made all the difference, not that Cameron is 195 cm, highly mobile and a natural forward.

Geelong have a community and a home base.... Which the team have feed off.... When the pressure came form the media to sack coaches, they stayed strong....

Our home isn't even ours anymore.... We have been swallowed by the stronger community's in melbourne.... Our supporter base is so desperate for success, that we eat our own.... What is it 3, 4 coaches now? We bow to media pressure to easily.... Our supporter need to bye into a plan.... Its us who jump at media pressure....

The supporters of this soft bellied club have stuck fat.

I'm in my mid 40s and this is the first year in my life where I no longer feel pain and anger after repeated insipid performances. The hurt has gone and I'm close to beyond caring. I know we joke about the Norm Smith curse, but this club had been sick for half a century. If I were PJ I'd be getting the broom and clear the whole damn place out with the exception of about 8 required players and start from scratch. Exterminate the club before we terminate!

have a look around the "G" next time your there.... Im not sure what your idea of sticking fat is.... But an empty stadium isn't mine....

I know the loses have hit you hard.... You might have to dig deep and ride it out... We need a strong community of support... A super hero isn't going to save us(PJ)....

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
