He [censored] slapped Connolly on national TV, and then in the same sentence remarked that the club doesn't need the best former red 'n blue people, it simply needs the best people. It was breathtaking.

I also loved the irony of Gerald making the remark about red 'n blue people under the guise that loyalty should be rewarded. Under that logic I believe our footy club owes Gerald a public flogging and a 10,000 foot restraining order.

Yes, there was one moment when I looked up and thought it was Bailey.

Maybe but I didn't feel like I needed a shower after listening to him (ie like i used too after listening to baileys constant dribble and excuses)

Jackson has the same attitude as Norm in many ways. There is only one way to do things.

The right way.

If PJ was with us when we knocked off the debt that money would be worth $15 mill now.

PJ spoke very well and seems to be in total control of the situation.

Loved the fact that he had a dees tie on and when he spoke he referred to the club as "us".

Good to c Roos is still in the mix and from what GNF says its still a wait and c what happens with the key appointments before making a decision.

We will get an experienced coach which is VERY pleasing.

I hope Schwab & Conolly are watching this.

These are damming statements of the highest order.

WYL, he said the last 10 years, didn't you here him? the change was needed but the club just got it wrong again.

obviously this is why Vlad highly recommended the board speak to Peter Jackson, to sort the club out,,, out after McLardy asked his advice on a CEO.

10 yrs ago was 2003,,,, this was 5 years after Balme finished... the onfield heritage left by a coach, lasts around 5 Yrs... it started on the slide from that time.

The grim reaper, we need to move forward, not dwell on the past, plenty of reasons why we are duds, big deal.

Seems to have plan zero, but blame the past.

Lays out the truth in all Its ugliness, and you know everything he says is spot on.

Honesty.. this is what I've been saying yelling asking for... No Spin, no marketeers, no advertising executives pulling the wool.

PJ's the Man!!

He didn't rubbish anyone. He has been a CEO for many, many years at the top level. Neeld was a novice who thought he had it all figured out. Point of difference!

Well you've just gone against the very principle you say PJ stands for... you just praised PJ, & used that as an insult on our recent Ex coach.

That was a sillier than usual post, Blue.

Replay and listen.

He basically narrowed the coaching field down to Roos, Eade and Choco.

actually he narrowed the best 2 AFL cultures down to the Cats & the Swans. PJ & I see it Eye to eye. I am one happy chappy, seeing that someone Finallly gets IT,,, what I've been trying to get people to see for the last few years.

..... its obvious that PJ sees the big need, is to fix this culture & mold it on these 2 clubs.... & the best way to do that is by????

Did he mention anything re coaching? Was anything said about Williams?

Just that we will be getting an experienced coach from either Eade, Williams or Roos.

No mention of Craig and was not asked about him either.

Posted

Did he mention Craig at all as a separate to coaching??

there will be a priority list WYL, in an order.

1st choice, & then so on. the only thing we can say for sure is it has to be an experienced AFL coach.

Yes DL i know he said 10 years....& i hope Schwab & Conolly heard it too. They walked away with a lot of our money.

DL, with all due respect, we all know that culture is the issue, but as you said, let's have a tangible solution.

Is culture the reason Scully walked? Is it more embedded than we have ever realised?

Why is everyone putting so much faith in this bloke??

I suppose we're all damaged and cling onto any hope of a perceived saviour.

Sacks a few people. Big deal.

Where's his vision?

This clearly shows you have no idea at all.

Move along.

he has no fancy vision or (red and) blueprint

He has a very simple plan.

Trim the fat right out of the non football spending. Use the AFL cash to keep a well resourced football department set up in a clear structure and led by an experienced GM and an experienced coach!

you do the club a disservice, when you try to condense a point down to one or two people... When the real fault lies with the clubs culture... "wholus bolus". singling out people who have tried & failed, only distracts us from finding our real pathway forward.

I tend to agree - demonland has created a colt status around PJ in a cling for hope.

Although I can't judge because I am one of them and think he does have vision or direction.

I love to be optimistic but don't think we should give ourselves to much false hope (look what happened the last couple times - same buzz was around Neeld at the start).

At least we know not what to do now.

The club has done me and all supporters a disservice DL for way to long. The above mentioned duo are top of the pile.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
