The funny thing about Watts

As you have all noticed and watched..

the last 3 games have been against Collingwood, Saints and Doggies.

We have witnessed Jack Watts put his head over the footy and show some serious grunt and hard work. Watts has been kicking goals and look really lively, something we have rarely seen from him.

The funny thing about him is that, he could and in my opinion get even better, Jack throughout matches drops some very silly marks and makes some errors and i get the feeling by rnd 1 2014 he wont drop or make any errors. Once this kid gets some confidence he's going to be a jet.
I finally believe we are seeing the start of Jack Watts

He will get heaps better and by the time he is 25 will be in the top 20 players in the game, mark my words.

Don't get me wrong, I love watts.

Did neeld ever think about our forward line next year?

Who will be our key forwards?

Clarke

Dawes

Watts

Hogan

Fitzpatrick

Gawn

Jamar

Howe

Talk about options.........

Jack is a really important cog to this team plus don't underestimate how many junior supporters have his number on their MFC jumper.

But my worry is.....Clarke, Dawes, Hogan, Fitzpatrick and Watts. Have we gone too top heavy. Jack must be asking what his role in the forward line is.

watts clark hogan dawes and howe

surely the greatest forward line in AFL/VFL history coming up for us

edit: let's put it in a time capsule now, for the first time all 5 of them line up, hopefully it is R1 2014 unless of course one of them is injured

When Watts dominated Junior football, he was a stick amongst sticks.

Came into AFL, he was a stick figure amongst big bodies.

How can a kid compete when he is coming from so far back.

Once Jack's body catches up to where it needs to be - to play as a forward, like he was doing in juniors, then we will see him dominate.

Watts is still only catching up.

In this day and age, the media has a job, they will pray on footballers, hoping they fail, then when they fail, you'll see the odd sympathy piece.

If we all didn't read papers and instead used our commonsense, then they'd be no need to worry about Jack Watts.

Then let Davey play with the other five. He will not let you down despite the doomsayers claiming he has finished!

This is not a worry, it's a dream. We will be versatile and have strong depth. It's highly unlikely we will have all fully fit and firing every game so they will all get game time. Hogan will probably need to be rested next season, and clark probably as well with his injury history. We will have Watts, Howe and Clark playing has half forwards taking a heap of marks and then kicking it in to both Dawes and Hogan at F/F kicking goals. We should keep Davey on as a small forward and work on teaching Blease to take over as the forward pocket in the future.

Never gave up hope on the kid.

Love his confidence kicking for goal on any angle.

Genuine superstar in the making.

Just goes to show, Neeld had NFI!!! The modern day Robin Hood. If Neeld had integrity he'd decline substantial payout.

Also, Jack was sublime as was the 21 other blokes and Craig. Jones' lace out pass to Watts just one if the highlights. McDonald's run from half back scratched the surface of the potential we have. Toumpas & Nicholson's dash had me excited once again for red & blue. And just on that, it was nice seeing the boys wearing their traditional uniform last night. The white gives me the $hits.

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
