Rohan Connolly on Monday

Poor effort from RC this am slinging off at Melbourne supporters for jeering Nick Reiwoldt.

He suggests the treatment was hopefully born of envy rather than spite.

How about disgust at that appalling staging effort boxhead?

It was also a reminder to that fool who paid the free how bad it was.

Honestly, some of these journalists are so far inside the bubble they just don't get it.

And to think Rohan used to be the one who best represented supporters: that hasn't been the case for 10 years I

know but there was a time when he was in touch.

Let's hope he keeps his high minded ways the next time his Bomber mates go ape.

It's sad when certain media people like Connolly have to bag our club, in order to make their name more mainstream.

Connolly is irrelevant as a journo and relatively unknown to the majority of the public, yet by bagging out the MFC day in day out, he gets his name out there.

I guess that is the nature of the beast these days and it's pathetic.

Mind you, on SEN yesterday, Connolly was much kinder to the MFC players. He spent some time questioning why the media gives Jack Watts such a hard time while leaving another #1 draft pick, Kreuzer, alone. He also made it clear that he believes the club has not physically developed players well enough so that Watts is still too under-developed physically to play CHF.

We pay our money, we go for Melbourne. Ok I get you can't be racist, homophobic, swear repeated etc but I believe in my right to boo Riewoldt when I want and how I want whether its his 250th or not. And Kosi and Montagna and the little tip rat if he was out there.

Ha, little Nicky has to be one of the biggest stagers and sookers going around.

He may be a damn good player, but he got towelled by Tom Mac on Saturday, was getting annoyed, so tried to milk pathetic, weak free kicks.

He deserved a jeer. This is footy, not ballet.

Sounds like the moron behind me at the game who pleaded we don't abuse Nick, but then unleashed a long period of abuse on Jack Watts, calling him everything from weak, to a princess and other such things. Nice.

I suppose Connolly didn't want Melbourne supporters to protest when Dawes got smacked in the head for no free either?

True but the umpire didn't fall for that one thankfully, maybe our player will learn something from that.

We all know why we were booing Riewoldt.

He's a champion, and well done on playing 250 games.

But that episode of flailing his arms around for a free kick that not only wasn't there, but should have gone against him, was disgraceful, and incited the booing.

Was a staging or flopping rule introduced the other year.......or has that somehow disappeared?

It was a terrible decision. The funny thing was that when he heard the whistle NW's immediate reaction was to start remonstrating with the ump as he assumed it had gone to TMac. Imagine his surprise.

    DERAILMENT by KC from Casey

It wasn’t quite a trainwreck although at times, it sure looked like one, so I’ll settle for “derailment”.  The trip to Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield outside the back of Brisbane might not exactly be the same place where Homer Simpson’s family resides but, if you listened closely to the utterances of the Casey Demons fans both at the ground or watching via livestream, you could hear lots of groaning and plenty of expressions of “D'oh!” reverberating in the background, particular

TEN YEARS AFTER by Whispering Jack

Things have changed in the more than ten years since the West Coast Eagles decimated Melbourne by 93 points on the MCG early in the 2014 season. The two sides had not met at the home of football in the interim until yesterday when Melbourne won by a comfortable 54 points to remain in contention for this year’s finals series. Back in those days, the Demons were in the midst of their Great Depression but they have since tasted premiership glory and experienced a long enough period among

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs West Coast

It’s game day and the Demons return to Melbourne to play the Eagles at the MCG for the first time in over a decade. A win keeps the Dees finals hopes alive whereas a loss will almost certainly slam the finals window shut.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
