I went last night with my son and granted we have been beyond poor however, my little fella is 4 and I am just making sure he has some fun at the game no matter what the score.

I was astounded after the saints had kicked the first three goals then Kent produced a great smother and snap for the first goal ... The silence was deafening. At that point we were only 2 goals down 20 minutes into a game.

No matter what you think of a player, coach whatever..... Make some noise. Plenty of times we had good patches of pressure and I thought I was in a library.

Give them the support you all say you have and give them a cheer.

Everyone talks how being competitive is a given for a player, well to be a fan and a supporter it is a given that you will cheer and support.

These are the things we can control.

Of all the things that MFC can be criticized for, fans that are still going to games are not one of them.

Melbourne fans, per head, make as much noise if not more than other teams. It's been shown numerous times over this terrible period. An inept start is hardly going to gee up the vocal chords of supporters. Not to mention that there'd barely have been 10,000 Dees fans in attendance yesterday. We make noise, there just aren't that many of us.

It's not a crack at the club it's at the supporters... If you are there, why not get loud?

In fairness prior to these times, our crowds have always been quiet.

It's pretty subjective - but I disagree.

I was in the MCC members so obviously the focal point for our support on the day besides the cheer squad, but I thought we were louder than the saints when we got up and going.

Listening on the radio it definitely sounded like the dees fans were louder than the saints fans....

I was yelling very loudly at my Radio yesterday whilst at work.

Does that count?

Ah... That's what I heard... Must have been a two way radio.

No.......it definitely doesn't. It does nothing at all

Riewoldt got booed pretty loudly when he went near the ball.

I was surprised how vocal the Dee fans were actually....

I think we can all agree that we could all be louder.

When they smash 6 goals in a row you will hear some noise, the tide will turn.

Couldn't disagree more, really.

The noise from 20,000 MFC supporters exceeds the noise from 40,000 of many other clubs.

It's just hard to get up and about when you're three goals down five minutes in to a game being played in single-digit temperatures under an interim coach with one win on the board and at least four of your stars missing.

I think we should be proud of the fans who continue going to games.

Then you would not want to come to a Melbourne game at Subiaco Oval.

But it makes me want to make more noise.

When Melbourne ran out in the 2006 Final against Freo I sang our theme song and when the Lady in front of my put her hands over her hears I just sang louder! 40.000 Freo supporters against about 2,000 Melbourne fans.

Sometime you just have to try harder for your team.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
