"Jack Trengrove"

That's okay. Under Roos he'll just be referred to as "Trenners".

I decided long ago that Roos will just use the same nicknames as Sydney (because he knows no other names), so Trengove will probably be "Joey", Clark will be "Sammy Reid" and Frawley will be "Teddy".

I said a long while ago in another thread that PJ could end up being a Melbourne great, I go shot down...

If he gets Roos and Walsh I think I'll start a thread for apologies... :P

I thought that was the coffee and banana bread thread? Anyway, I would like to also remind everybody that this is the great ocean road thread :)

50% more than two days ago.

And if he keeps up this rate, in two more days he will be decorating his new office at the MFC, taking down Mark Neeld's stupid 'Stay Calm' poster.

I think PJ is more of a turnaround specialist and will probably hand over the reigns at the appropriate time.

I really hope this comes off for us as we deserve to have some luck.

I think it's due after the last 7 years from hell.

I was actually thinking he wasn't coming to us and was ok with it then he drops the bomb last night and its got my hopes up again.

My only concern if Roos says no we will all be very disappointed and back to square one.

This is a rollercoster and I am nearly throwing up.

Roosy please just sign and say those 5 magic words "I am the new MFC coach".

DO... Luck?! We don't deserve any luck, we become lucky by putting the right people and structures in place. Jackson from the outside appears to be doing that.

Will this lead to Roos coaching us.. Who knows but if it falls through then a few fans will be even more demoralised and that leaves us with a Williams or a Voss or Knights from the experienced coaching ranks... Not as "pleasurable".

Pessimist much... Yes I'm a MFC supporter. :)

Whisper is that Cameron Ling as an assistant is part of the package.

Shite, our coaching panel will be a better footy team than the one they're coaching.

We could be a very VERY different looking outfit in 14 :)

look different ...might take awhile to be different lol

I have framed a market for the heck of it

Eade 2 / 1

Craig 4 / 1

Roos 6 / 1

Williams 8 / 1

Voss 12 / 1

Harvey 15 / 1

Worsfold 30 / 1

Ratten 50 / 1

Rest name a price.......

My preference would be Neil Craig with some strong assistant coaches who could transition into the role in a couple of years such as a Lingy, Leppitch, Simpson

Time to reframe the market methinks

only taking bets on Neeld ..lol :o

OMG I would pay out just to keep him out of this Club.

If there is a GOD please send him to Messendon or Collingwood.

Roos is still keen on job and after last night l reckon he will do it, says he's 50/50 so9 he's seriously thinking about it....

There is also speculation that Swans assistant coach Leigh Tudor is keen to return to Melbourne for family reasons, and could link with Roos.

Former Swans premiership player Tadhg Kennelly has also been mentioned as a possible Demons assistant coach, should Roos take the top role. Kennelly is an assistant coach on Australian international rules team.

These developments are entirely consistent with what I have been saying for 3+ Months.

Melbourne has been in discussions with Roos since R2.

Melbourne in confident Roos will coach from 2014.

No decision will be made until admin, board etc are in place.

No decision will be made until after AFL assistance is confirmed.

The AFL wants Roos to coach Melbourne

None of this should be a surprise! Roos is very short odds to coach us. I say $1.20 would be a fair market.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
