Greg Denham reporting Roos will be announced as coach at the Bluey night on Thursday Paul Roos close to signing $2m deal to coach Melbourne Demons

Cost alleged to be $2m.

Good thing we're supposed to be broke.

It must not fail.

And we have became the AFL's project and we know that the AFL does not like it's projects to fail.

Sorry to be a pebble in the Demonland shoe, but I have seen too many false dawns and rays of hope. I can't let myself believe this until I see Roos in a MFC tee shirt at a press conference with PJ. If this comes to pass, I will be the first to run down my street in the buff with a Dees scarf around my neck yelling "Rooooos". At the moment it is the classic carrot on a stick and after the last 5 years I just can't do the "this might be great" celebrations.

fileed for future reference

I've seen Messiah's come to this club before.

The best part for me is it confirms the AFL's determination to fix us.

messiah, thats your description, probably straight out of the Huns handbook of quotes... its a good get out of jail term, in case things go wrong theres someone who can take your knife?

bring back end... & corcoran, infact bring back all the old boys of 2003.

Triple M damo barrett just said Roos met with the leadership last week and basically saying its nearly a done deal. Sources close to PJ have said talks have gone right up.

Giddy up!!!

ROOSY....(btw...I hope Neil Craig is retained at the club...a very smart man. He could be invaluable to PR next year).

Agree on keeping Craig, seems to be good for the kids!

Roos.... the excitement is building!

How about this for a pebble: getting Roos guarantees nothing.

We still don't have a midfield and established leaders.

what is a guarantee really, in the old days it was a persons word, which they were good for in those days of the "its how you play the game that counts" fraternity.... since then, guarantees are only as strong as 'how quickly some business can shut the door on you'.

their word is that of the forked tongue.

We should all chip in $1 each and send Angus Johnson a bunch of roses and a card

maybe Angus was using this opportunity as a way of leveraging the change he wanted to achieve, to sack a loved son,,, in a way, his supporters could go for... but the change was what he really wanted???

lets send those dollars to the footy dept to sort our list issues, or other than that, to the Fred Hollows foundation?

Reports Roos will be announced at the B&F on Thursday.... believe it when I see it.

When Roos comes down the race, members need to do the "ROOOOOOOS" chant.

Good thing we're supposed to be broke.

supposedly being broke caused us to get back in our shells,,, & miss an opportunity to get a home base on Swan street...

that sort of conservatism that this club has had over generations, has squeezed the life blood from our support base. too many conservative rationalists & not enough entrepreneurs.

protect what we've got, & quick, flood the Mote.... we've become inbreds, with a weak Immune system. one sneeze could kill us off.

Yes.

Finally the AFL has realized that Big $$$ can be generated from our club the MFC.

There is no reason we cannot be a top earner from Victoria.

I was told last night that both St. Kilda & Footscray are in dire financial trouble courtesy of Etihad. The AFL NEED the MFC to be generating $$$ not draining.

the AFL need to build 2 boutique stadiums over the next 10 years, to complement the 'G'.... & to then sell off etihad for development.

start with a boutique stadium in the heart of the blue collar, Red & Blue territory.... out SthEast, Dandenong... Frosty Miller says Hi.

Its happening.....Roos will coach us, Watts and Sylvia will stay....others will come in the off season excited at the prospect of being coached under Roos. We should pick up some quality mids, then watch us go!

Go the Mighty Demons!

Nothing provides a guarantee on success, but what is guaranteed is that you won't have success unless you have the best in key roles. This is but one building block in the correct place; as far as pebble goes this one was pretty easy to find and toss out of the shoe.
