Sorry , I can't get the vision out of my mind of Lethal king-hitting Peter Giles from behind .

May give the MFC players more insentive to train and player harder.

Rule 1 - Don't upset the Coach!

I cannot stand the man, IMHO a real piece of s*#t.

I wonder how he would get on with the MCC committee and Steve Smith (future MCC president)!!!!!

Wait you are right, he is also an ex Collingwood coach!

Do we really want to go there again?

People saying no to Lethal have to get a grasp on reality. We are the lowest we've ever been and some are rejecting the idea of one of the greatest players and coaches to ever grace the field taking over! Unbelievable.

One of a number of options we should definitely be pursuing I think.

What a dog of a player he was, one of the dirtiest I've seen. Hated him with a passion after he whacked Smith in front of me.

Would love to have him as coach, badly wanted him to replace Bailey.

From memory he was Baileys mentor.

Truth is we should have gotten Lethal after Balme was sacked. I specifically remember an article in the Hun around that time where they asked potential coaches at that time what they thought about taking the job. Derm, being a head wobbler, said he would only take the job if there was a carrot the size of Ayers Rocks (eye roll). Lethal, to his credit, said he was prepared to listen. I think Neale was a decent coach for us but I reckon Lethal would have taken us all the way unlike ND who fell just short.

Get Him Now

Agree but would want an apprentice if u want to call it that to take over from in the future.

Who that would be not entirely sure at this stage but Burns has been spoken highly of in the past.

I would say there is a fair bit of diff between LM and the dud we have TBF.

I'm on the "reality bus" too D!!!!

Or shouldn't I use that term?

A little ironic that you'd be decrying his tactics , whilst feting a total ball player with your name here- Grinter was far from an angel for all those too young to recall.

And for the record , I advocated Mathews as coach about a month ago

True but I am still alittle scared.

Only one good thing as come from Collingwood, Chris Dawes

he hasnt come from Collingwood, his last job was with Brisbane where he won 3 flags and his whole playing career was with the Hawks

I cant get the vision of him winning flags out of my head

I have the same problem Waltham.

There is only one thing I need from the MFC and that is to be a winning team.

Beyond that I don't care

- who the players are, if they are first class citizens or if they kick their dog and swear at their mother.

- who is the coach

- who is the President

- how much involvement the AFL has in the running of the club

Just start winning games.

Imagine the quinella of Kennett as president and Matthews as coach.

Is that to much ego for one club to handle?

No

Versus nil at present!

Bring them on a faint heart never won a fair lady

Confidence is what this club needs not shrinking violets

Sorry , I can't get the vision out of my mind of Lethal king-hitting Peter Giles from behind .

He also got Laurie Fowler from behind one day. Went off on a stretcher. Lethal was in the forward pocket and Fowler was niggling him all day. Fowler was about twenty yards out (Richmond end) watching up field and Lethal ran from behind and clocked him. He was indeed "Lethal".

Prefer Leigh over Sheeds, the dee establishment my find Leigh too overpowering, too many sookies around the club.

If P.Jackson wants J.Kennett for president are the supporters or more so power broker are going to put a stop to it. If so the club should go the way of the dinosaurs.......total extinction.

54 yrs as a supporter, no premierships, there is a very simple solution.Thank god I am not in charge of training,I would have to buy and endless supply of dunny rolls to mop up players tears.

p.s So would Leigh

Henry Coles, Peter Moore were both great for the Dees.

There there TBF I will hold u!!!!!!!

Mate if we get LM I will pee my pants he has done it before at TWO clubs four times.

Bring it on.

Only a fool (or a melbourne supporter) would knock back a chance to get Matthews as a coach

No rocket science here

Hahahaha, I bet we don't even bother asking him.

If we go for another speculative pick, I think I'll be done caring for the MFC.

I don't suffer fools easily. The last 6 years has left me dumbfounded.

Time to learn from our mistakes and stop the reckless gambling. We need go for the sure bet.

If he's willing, we must give him the reigns. It's a sure bet.

It will be good for me, my son and the MFC community.

Please MFC, at least approach him. I don't think that is too much to ask.

HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
