Collingwood chasing Sylvia

We cannot lose Sylvia. More than anything, it sends a message that we are a horrible option. Right now we are not flavour of the month but we need to change perceptions albeit slowly. It must start season's end.

What do you suggest RtG?

Besides money how do you make someone stay at the MFC in its current state?

I'm not sure old dee. Perhaps it's a CEO with the capacity and willingness to sell a story. To this extent I'm curious as to the abilities of Ron Gauci. And it will be interesting to see how Jackson fares.

Beyond that, incriminating photos.

I get the feeling this task will be nearly as hard as keeping our sponsors on board next year.

I have spent all my life in Sales but this must be the hardest sales job in the western world.

Darren Jolly?

Greg Wells?

Earl Spalding?

Jeff Farmer?

Stan Alves?

The Wiz was better at the Demons than with the Dockers IMO. A rare win but a win nontheless

Earl was pretty good with us as well. He looked better with the Blues as they finally improved his horrible method of kicking at goal. Goal accuracy aside, he played some great games for us.

I cannot imagine any club paying him more than he would get at the Dees.

He could almost name his price and contract terms if he has a solid year.

Old dee, even as flat as I've been this year, I can't believe that things won't improve soon. I'm not in sales but would you not say to a company ' get in on the ground floor'. [censored], I was almost laughing as I said this.

There's also that line from the very first National Lampoons Vacation where the car salesman says to Chevy (double meaning)'if you hate it now, wait till you drive it'.

This is tiring. It's players like Colin that are supposed to make us a good team. Not play well when other players do the hard work for him.

I hear the same thing about Watts, Blease and others. How about these players actually deliver and who knows we might just be a good team.

I totally agree with this. I'm just making the point that Colin would have more value in a good team.

I'm thinking his friendship with Dids could play a part in him going to Collingwood. I hope not as we need as many mature players as we can get. He is frustrating and I don't think he will EVER reach his potential but he is a man (physically, not mentally so much) in a team of boys.

Appoint a super experienced coach that he might think he'll learn from and play a big part in the climb up the ladder for the remainder of his career. Give him the VC (along with Clark). Jones & Dawes as co captains.

Oh, and a nice contract with a bit of a sweetner. Maybe a guaranteed career post footy with a Company associated with a friend of a friend of a friend..... of a Director. Visy or someone similar....shhhhhh

I thought that in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012 and now 2013.

The only change I see is we are worse than 2007.

Exactly and they would be too RtG

All this "friends" business is silly. You don't think Col might have a few friend at the Demons he might not want to leave? And besides, it's not like he lives in China where he can't see Didak and Shawry and drive down the Chandler Highway with them. Money is (IMO) the biggest factor in football these days, and we can give him more of that than anyone else.

Agree, but I don't think Dids will will have another year in him after this one.

Getting sick of losing experienced, hard bodied players and then hearing all the claptrap about how young and inexperienced our group is. This will be a big test for the FD. Can they keep an experienced player who has hit some form and is allegedly loyal to the Club, or will the FD f**k it up and let another one go with little compo in return? Get the deal done Dees.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
