I am assuming the ox is passionate about helping out but probably doesn't know much about the behind the scenes of a footy club. Bring the ox in where his passion is best served. Involve him with the players, mentoring forwards and young players and let the ox learn the ropes of a footy department. Don't throw him to the deep end in a already poorly run department.

and the difference between the both, so what you are saying is only the Ox can tell the blunt truth but Neeld cannot???

No I meant what the Ox said about Neeld and his coaching. Im not sure Neeld would want to work along side a guy who doesnt think much of him. We all know Neeld can speak the truth and I applaud him for that.

It's a no for the experience reasons mentioned previously.

I do think he should get involved at board level. I think he'd tell a few home truths.

For what it's worth I think that the senior coaching role needs to be changed psychologically but a lot of the rest of the positions are really hard to evaluate given that the previous CEO had everyone's balls in his purse. It's hard to judge Josh Mahoney and Craig's roles externally anyways, but even more difficult given our previous management 'structure'.

When do you think Jackson will start ringing in the changes? I don't think we will have to wait too long

Maybe a couple more weeks at the most?

Apparently, CS was the second coming of Rick James. You were star struck by him. Maybe his aura was orange as well?

I made the suggestion of Peter Schwab earlier, anyone know what he is doing now? He was running AFL Victoria a few years back.

How did Josh Mahoney go from forward line coach to footy manager? Its like we wanted to get rid of Josh but instead we thought hang on why not put him in charge of the department.

He studying his MBA so I guess that was enough for him to get an assistant mangers role which he effectively was. We need a real football savvy person in this role and someone with experience.

Comment is in very bad taste chook.

The man has had gambling problems, but let's not be above making jokes please? It's part of what makes living in a free world great.

I've heard it said that comedy = tragedy + time

Not above making jokes but there are things that u don't need to joke about.

I am sure his family would think it hilarious.

I don't want to get into a big thing with you here, but suffice it to say that there are very few things in the world you shouldn't be allowed to joke about. Gambling debts do not fall into that category.

Terrific bloke as honest as they come.

I doubt he would be interested and he is a Hawks man through and through.

Agree D'Ox. I think the Ox should be congratulated for gettiing his life back on track not have to deal with witless slurs on his past.

Having said that I dont think he is Board or Chairman material by a long shot.

I love Schwarz but exactly what experience/qualifications does he have to head the FD??? Get him back at the club sure but give home something within his capabilities.

Yep, he is a great Hawk... but this is the calibre of person we need at the club and not being an ex MFC person would be a bonus.

I honestly think he would make a great Prez RR with good people behind him.

He would unite all the supporters and would be great with the sponsors. I don't think I have ever spoken to a Dees supporter who has not liked the Ox.

One last thing he would bring the PASSION back to the club in spades.

Think you're going to be disappointed.

Just for starters, if we want people who are already at other clubs - which you would think would be likely given the emphasis on "experience" - they're not going to move till the end of the season.

I feel that the main role we need to finalise is that of CEO. Hard to imagine someone joining us as head of football, reporting to the CEO ... if they don't even know who that person is.

There are other attributes you need to be President beside passion.

And I note that you think he would need good people behind him. Its valid qualification.

MFC need better than that. We need a President who has the attributes to be one and not dependent on other catching him if he falls.

I've always thought Neeld has been speaking the truth as he knew it at Collingwood. Been external from the start. And we welcomed it.

CEO is one P Jackson and in it for a longer haul than expected!

Now that I would be glad to hear and was the impression I got from his interviews over the weekend.

This is a joke right!

I love the Ox and love listening to him but he is neither a great strategist or leader. Affable yes, likeable yes, amusing yes, a great player, most certainly, but a FD manager or president? You've got to be joking!

I don't think coaching experience or uni degrees are necessary to head a fd.. Actually what we seem to lack in our fd are people with heart and drive and thirst for hard work. I think ox brings this to the table and the sooner he is involved the better. We can get these experienced people to replace the other useless fd staff after the season ends. Happy for ox to head the fd, think he will help to improve the culture and let's see how he evolves in the role, can't be worse than what we have now.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
