We've been in to him for 18 months. Don't assume the club get everything wrong.

You know that for a fact do you?

I agree this thread should be locked now.

If you can't intice a kid back to a club were his family is deeply entrenched on a massive offer you should just shut the gates, this club is in huge trouble.

He's still a pup with a long career in front of him.

Don't give up hope yet. Might see him in the red and blue one day.

What is Prestia thinking? Everyone knows Melbourne have the best footy trips

Yes, a weekend Pi55-Up trip to Ryan's in Traralgon with Neeldy drivin' the Reality Bus should not be sneezed at.

Each to their own, but I think tough quality mids are for more "required"

Watts is starting to show signs FD that he's willing to 'Go In'... & get involved. & his intelligence is good... it was thew 'apparent effort' or apparent lack of which was troubling me earlier this season, but this can easily be misconstrued.

his efforts on the weekend against the Hawks & brushing off a few tacklers up forward was really encouraging.

Rubbish.

As soon as he was picked by the Suns his loyalty towards the Demons became insignificant.

Some players will leave clubs, but the vast majority stay at the club they were drafted to

Its about a winning culture keeping some losers will not change anything Some of our players have forgotton how to win

The bodylanguage in the first bounce is apalling

"forgotten how to win" ?? Some of them have NEVER won... not forgotten how !!

I wonder if it will get to that stage. I reckon it is not so far away as many might think.

We cannot recruit stars.

We cannot develop stars.

We have no on field success.

We are a weak team on field and no one respects us.

We have a dwindling supporter base.

We are financially weak.

We are currently appallingly overseen by business people who should be competent and I fear that there are no replacements to save us from them. This board will go down as the most toxic influence on the MFC for its entire history. 158 years and these blokes have just about killed us. Those that fired Norm Smith has just been trumped. I never thought I'd live to see it and I have.

Our 'footy people' are either uninvolved, ineffective or a very negative influence.

We have caused all our own suffering.

We are a club without respect and we have earned none. We are a walking, talking footy joke. Why the hell should AFL continue to support a team unable to perform its core business- play footy? In any other area of life, we'd be cut adrift. Other than my emotional attachment to the club, I see few reasons for anyone to save us and we are clearly unable to save ourselves. It makes me terribly sad, but I really cannot see why the AFL should support us for more than the current broadcast period.

And I don't think they will, beyond that period.

So no, I don't think we'll hand our licence in. I think we'll be voted off the island. And we deserve it. We have no redeeming features - age doesn't count. What a shame this club is.

so, are you saying that we throw him out now he is learning?

Or could it be that the culture about the club is beginning to change, & one by one, players are getting the message?

?

... we're not in the business of giving up, even if the culture became that way in the 70's.

I'm sure we are trying to change the 'near enough is good enough', culture.

... & all of this in just 20 months??? goodness Neeld works fast!

but wait theres more, steak knives anyone?

I think if you take off your reading Glasses, you may notice that the support base has been dwindling steadily for decades.... with the rise of other teams using the MCG as home base. & with MFC having no Home & social facilities...

... but lets just keep on keeping on,,, doing as we've done for 40 + years, & just look after the members & MCC members. that should keep the ferrals away & the AFL handouts coming along just nicely.

Heard a rumour today that a premiership player maybe on his way to our club.... Not happy with his current club and wants a challenge.... Not from a rock solid source, but thought I'd float it here to see if any others have heard this?

How about you float his name and we can tell you if we've heard it?

Hopefully it's not a fringe premiership player like Byrnes

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
