He still has a reputation and the fact that he is only there for 6 months limits his ability to make serious changes and possibly limits his authority.

I don't know why you would think he would have limited authority? He's the CEO! If he exercises his authority he'll soon work out who is or isn't capable or on board and that's where the serious change starts.

Having said that I'm not sure about the need for much further drastic change but to simply continue to move away from harmful people and period at the club. I expect he will be able to smoke any remaining rats out.

Yes. When was our last one again?

And Knights came in 6 years ago if you want to talk about the past.

In the end, if you think he's no good for us then you're a fool.

I don't know what you are expecting Stu......As I said in another thread.....He will review the business side of the club which last time I looked was running at a small profit......What if he looks at the FD and agrees that you can't turn a club around in a year and a half and thinks that the FD are on the right track???.....Will you call for his sacking?????.......And WE played against ESS in their last premiership....And because I don't think he is the Messiah does not make me a fool.......Just makes you look like one.....

I didn't say he's the messiah, I was merely stating he's a quality football person with excellent credentials. You obviously have a low opinion of him purely because he signed Knights, yet you ignore the premiership, financial strength, and membership build he was a big part of.

Maybe you think we should have just kept chugging along with our "small profit" and "FD on the right track" though? Nice plan...

James Hird inherited a very good list thanks to a lot of hard work by Matthew Knights.

Even Essendrug scum who called for his head will admit it now.

Hird & Bomber made the job of Knights untenible.

& both of them are looking very suspect today.

Not going to get into a slanging match with you mate.......Lets see what eventuates ,,,,I really hope he does turn the place around....For all our sakes .....I didn't mean to appear to be bagging him.....I was just stating that he is not the Messiah that some people on here expect.......No need for the sarcasm......As we both want the same thing....a successful CLUB....

Whatever the root cause/causes the bottom line for our club is pizz poor onfield performance. What CAN this guy realistically be expected to achieve in 6 months to start some sort of recovery from the mess of the last 7 years?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
