Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Those of you saying we wasted a pick and the Toump will be nothing have no clue and should shut their mouths.

The kid has played 3 games, in an average losing margin of over 100 points. Enough and shut it.

The Toump will definitely show something throughout the year and will grit his teeth and fight like a gun.

There is a reason he was so hyped, and you'll see it.

We have seen it with Watts, just not with consistency.

I BELIEVE Toump is even better.

Have some bloody faith

Whats your beef, the club deserves every bit of criticism it gets, you been sitting in the cheer squad to long.

You certainly are consistent, bag the club nearly every post. It really is tiresome.

There is a very long way to go. And I get the distinct gut impression that this is a bloke who won't like failing and has the will to succeed. This is no Cale Morton IMO.

He just looks lost. He gets caught every time he gets the ball, can't think quickly and doesn't seem overly passionate. Don't really know where he fits in terms of positioning either. I know that there's always that argument about him being young and our developing and our recruiting sucks and we should wait with him and so on, but he's definitely been a disappointment.

Was very ordinary today before getting injured.

His skills are pretty good, but I can't find anything else of note (especially for a top 4 draft pick).

I did not watch the game, what happened to him?

Rolled ankle, went down like he'd been shot so I thought it may have been broken.

They were concerned about his lateral ligaments

According to Neeld in his press conference: "Toumpas rolled his ankle, was up running around in the rooms. Wasn't able to get back out on the field."

CB, I thought he looked significantly less lost than previously. He will be a player. Back him in.

Agreed, looked to have greater awareness and composure. People need to remember he's played about 5 games and is 18. Lets not expect him to set the world on fire just yet, regardless of his draft number.

wow, if that is how Toumpas acted over a rolled ankle, I would hate to see him have a real injury...

Obviously I'm no doctor, and some of the worst injuries can be very innocuous, but it looked like he didn't handle a very simple injury very well. I have been developing an idea about Jimmy Toumpas over the past eight weeks, and that incident played right into what I suspect might be the case with him.

I'm not willing to write such a young guy off right now, but it does not appear that he has what it takes.

So how long do we have before criticise him like we do with Jack Watts?

So out for 6-8 weeks then?

Mitch Clark went down like he was shot with a rolled ankle in round 1. Michael Hurely the same a few weeks ago.

Anyone else want to call a guy soft. He pushed the doctors off and ran off eventually.

I think Watts if anything has taught us to lower our expectations. I have never seen Watts do anything thats suggests he is a potential superstar - at least Toumpas hit a couple of contests today and that is all I want from him now - desire (something Watts has still never shown)

Well, I guess it gives the doomsayers the opportunity to say that, even at this early stage, we should definitely have picked Wines, so at least some here will be happy.

Like Watts vs Natunui

By the way, how do they feel Wines and NicNat would be going in a team totally devoid of leaders or direction?

You're pathetic.

I think I might have to agree with Benson here. I've had some very severe ankle injuries in the past, and I never reacted anything like that. It was reminiscent of the Gary Lyon stretcher incident (not least because they look a little alike).

But that's a good point the Master has to make about Clark, who I would not ever call soft. The human body is such a weird device that you can never be certain how it will react to different (but seemingly similar) injuries.

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt
