Show some respect mate, sure he's playing average but he did beat Cox in hitouts. He is a hundred game player for the Club that we love, give him a bit.

Django most those hitouts went straight to an opposition as always.. no good winning hitouts when you do sweet f all!! he had 5 disposal for the whole game FFS!

The three-year contract is looking good, big men take a while to develop.

The three year contract was a joke and obviously you're being sarcastic but really Jamar should have got 2 years max and/or some sort of ruck coaching role because I think he knows what he's doing, there isn't much in the middle to get the ball.

Cox beat Jamar in hitouts when they were against each other.

Cox also kicked 3 goals and had 23 touches, compared to Jamar's 5 touches.

Tim Harrington the list manager was crowing when he re-signed Jamar for a further 3-years. Though at the time, besides himself, Gawn was and still is injury prone, Spencer is an absolute dud, so there was no-one else.

Well Tim should be sacked.

That's true mate but Jamar has never been a big possession winner. I don't think he has it in him anymore but he deserves a little bit more respect.

And if you guys don't respect him, respect the fact that his mrs is almost better than Pia Miller. Almost...

Lets assess Jamar after we hear the results from the Casey game (Spencer and Gawn)

I have to admit Jamar held his own in the ruck but is useless around the ground

Would love to have Gawn back but just don't rush him - if he goes down again what have we got left in the ruck stocks?

Maybe we could bring Gawn back as a FF with stints in the ruck (but I do doubt Gawn as a FF)

Ht-outs aside, Big Cox and Young Sinclair (cumulatively) had 35 disposals, 5 tackles and kicked 5.2.

Jamar, as has been mentioned, had five, 6 tackles and only put foot to ball once.

I'm not sure of the stats in relation to our chop-out Ruckmen but they'd not be very significant.

Howe had 3 HOs, Pedo 2, Sellar 2 and Sylvia 1.

Jamar's contribution around the ground has always been miserable.

The Eagles today had almost two extra Mids and an extra big Forward with the efforts of their Rucks.

Mitch was our only reliable big man out there today.

Jamar and Sellars for that matter are not worthy of an AFL game right now.

Let us hope that Dawes will add something to that glaring inadequacy.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
